Walmart has a combination deal available using the $10 Mail-In Rebate [oreillyauto.com] currently active for 5qts of Pennzoil Platinum and Ultra Platinum, as well as, the $5 Rebate via the Ibotta App [ibotta.com] (Note: To validate rebate, it requires that you scan the QR code of you Walmart receipt with the App). Rebate that is available for purchases on this product only at Walmart. So if you haven't pulled the trigger yet and used your rebate you can still buy at this price. May even be able to double dip being the Ibotta rebates regenerate after a day or so but this particular rebate doesn't list its expiration - Edit: 5/15 is expiration - thanks Fatbill!
Note, prices below after $10 & $5 rebate:

Pennzoil Platinum [walmart.com] Full Synthetic Oil, 5 Qts
$22.47-$15 = $7.47

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum [walmart.com] Full Synthetic Oil, 5 Qts
$27.97-$15 = $12.97
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Official rebate is at: http://offers.pennzoil.com/rebate/

You can upload your receipt. Walmart is not listed under participating retailer, however there is an "other" selection.

****IBOTTA: Minimum balance of $20 required to transfer cash or purchase gift cards.* ... so you will not receive anything until you've accumulated over $20 in rebates thru ibotta
*** Heads Up, IBOTTA does not seem to honor any digital or pick up receipts. A tech company apparently insisting on old school commerce. They will probably also require a landline for the rebate as well. Stay clear!!

Terms and Conditions

1Note: Offer ends December 31, 2016. Requests must be postmarked by January 15, 2017 and received by January 31, 2017. Void for residents of RI or where prohibited by law. Please visit www.pennzoil.com/rebate for the list of participating locations. Purchases by an installer for use in its business do not qualify for this offer. Rebate will expire 60 days from issue date. This redemption form and proof of purchase submission may not be mechanically reproduced. An original printed retailer identified and dated purchase receipt showing the required qualifying Pennzoil® Full Synthetic motor oil (brand and product required on invoice) between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 must accompany all submissions. Mixing qualifying products purchased is authorized. Use of fictitious names, multiple addresses or P.O. Boxes to fraudulently obtain additional rebates is a violation of federal law, and may result in prosecution. Trading or selling proofs of purchase is strictly prohibited. This offer may not be published in any publication, electronic or printed, without written permission from SOPUS Products. SOPUS Products may cancel, rescind or extend this offer at any time. No redemption will be honored for any club, group, organization or legal entity. SOPUS Products is not responsible for misdirected, lost, late, damaged or postage due mail. All requests will become the property of SOPUS Products and will not be returned. Cannot be combined with any other offer. Offer valid only in United States. Allow 6 to 8 weeks for mailing of your rebate. **Your engine must have fewer than 75,000 miles and been manufactured in the past 72 months. To maintain warranty you must change your oil with any Pennzoil® motor oil as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer, perform regular maintenance and keep receipts. Other conditions apply. That's funny Pennzoil rebate link does not work anymore. It worked last week. And the Rebate form link on Amazon has the first page describing the rebate, but the second page of the actual form to send in for the rebate has been deleted.

I wonder if they will honor these rebates?

Thanks man, yeah I thought it was pretty amazing. I'm hitting 5000 miles in just over a month typically with my job so I'm always looking for oil deals. So I will be maxing this one out. Just make sure, to anyone who is buying multiple, buy them on separate receipts and wait for the deal to come back in a day or two on the ibotta app, and then claim the rebate again.

Pennzoil is notorious for not honoring a high percentage of legitimate rebates.

Haven't had a better experience with a rebate than Pennzoil...
Submitted 2 rebates and received checks within 4 weeks of submission.

What different between Platinum and Ultra Platinum since they're both full Synthetic?

For new cars nowadays, you need it. Plus, you will void the warranty if something happens to the car for not using synthetic.

For old cars, it's a waste of money.

ultra is made from natural gas and is supposedly super "clean"

makes the least sludge possible
