Yes, I know you don't necessarily associate Whole Foods and Slickdeals, but I actually live a few blocks away from one(in the same shopping center as a CVS, lol), and I frequently stop in on the way back from the gym. No, they don't double coupons, and you usually can't get the outrageous deals that you can get at CVS or a conventional supermarket for that matter, but you can frequently get decent deals, not to mention lots of free samplesyummy And their '365' house brand is usually comparably priced to Trader Joe's, and cheaper than a comparable supermarket item. And maybe it's the economy, but I have noticed them getting considerably cheaper on some advertised items as of late.

Sales for Whole Foods stores are regional, although they seem to have some national deals on grocery items(canned and packaged foods). Sales tend to run on 2 and 4 week cycles, and new cycles tend to start on Wednesdays. They also tend to have regional sales, that run on the weekends or may also run on 2 week cycles(the "Madness" sales in the Northeast) that tend to feature regional deals like produce, meat, prepared food, bakery etc.

Your best bet to find out what's on sale at your local store, is to go to your store's website, which is located at www.wholefoodsmarket.com. Enter your zip code up top, and pick your store. In addition to the sales circular, there is often a calendar of store events, a twitter feed or facebook page.
One aspect of Whole Foods is that the stores tend to have a lot more "events" than a conventional supermarket. These can be promotions, contests,
sampling events, cooking classes. If your store calendar isn't posted online, there is always one at the store entrance. And while many of these promos are not worth a separate trip(though I have gotten some nice sample packs at times), if you are going to the store anyway, why not go when they are giving something away?

Whole Foods also distributes a coupon book in store, called "The Whole Deal". These are store coupons and are will NOT scan at other retailers, despite the bar codes. You should be able to combine them with a manufacturer coupon, but YMMV.

Get your meat marinated LMAO

on a separate note:

i went to buy some marinated organic chicken, meat counter person said they can't sell pre-marinated organic chicken, because the meat area has non-organic meats, and so once they process the organic meat, it is considered non-organic, even though in reality it is organic.

ahh, good to know.

however, once they give you this disclaimer, if you select a cut of prepackaged organic free range chicken, or organic grass fed beef or what have you, they will happily baste it in the marinade of your choice should you so want. which means while you shop around the store, and then drive home, the meat can marinate and then you can cook it as soon as you get home and put away the other groceries. it's a decent time-saver if you don't mind the brief contact with non-organic meats in the counter area - i figured it's a good option to keep in mind for when one is really crunched for time.

Well, just a week later at the same WF but different employee they're now saying it's a 2 item max per day on the trade program. Last week they said I could trade as many as I want as long as it was different types of items. So I traded 3 at once with no problems. They wouldn't budge on the 2 max today, and they seemed more interested in finding out which employee told me that rather than what they said. But, at least they were still consistent with allowing empty bottles, so I traded an empty and a full bottle.

I'm loving these Late July chips, they're friggen good.

They also had the Imagine soup cans on sale for $1.99. There's the $1/1 WFQ and then whatever MQ you can find. $1/1 from Vitamin Angels booklet, $1.50/2 peelies from supermarkets on the soup cartons, and maybe $1/2 from an insert if there's any that haven't expired yet.
I think 2 per day is what they are going for, but I prefer to trade ONE anytime I have a chance to stop by a WF. (not making a trip to go there just for it with gas price this high) and ONE is very easy as no OP needed.
BTW, what is the deal with Late July chips?

Yeah, I actually asked the cashier if he had an override key and he said yes. But when the 2nd traded item beeped he had to make the phone call for a higher up. Then he was like, "oh, is that what you meant..." I was going to split my transaction in two to include only one traded item each and avoid the override if he didn't have a key.

The Late July chips are on sale for $1.99, and I periodically find peelies on Late July products for either $1/2 or $1/1. They're two different colored (based on value) peelies and good on any Late July snacks ~5oz+.

New WF coupons coming up in a couple of days. So stock up on some of the April WF coupon books now. Here's hoping for some good Qs in May *fingers crossed for peanut butter*

I was under the impression that the sales were pretty much national, guess I was wrong. Here in So Fl the Back to Nature Macaroni is BOGO until 5/1. Also, saw that the Enjoy Life chocolate chips and chunks are BOGO until 5/1, Annies pizza is 6.99.
Oooh, hoping the chocolate chips are on sale at my WF as well...I use them for baking and just eat em. Smilie

Nice find on the Imagine soup. I love the split pea...bought a lot of it last time it was on sale. Even if my prices are higher, I'd still go for it, because it's good soup.

Some stuff I saw on sale:

Spectrum Cooking Oils: Canola $3.99, Asian Stir Fry $4.99, other various types starting at $5.69 - $2/1 WFQ - $1/1 MQ (vitamin angels)
I went to WF few days ago for Canola oil and mystore price was $5.99 ???? The Asian Stir fry was the cheapest at $4.99. I picked up a bottle of stir fry one, but would love to get Canola at 99 cents price (to fry the cheap Nasoya tofu Smilie )

Thanks for the Late chip info.

That's kind of strange, the 16oz canola oil? I was just looking at it again today (I picked up the stir-fry). I believe the sale discount was $1 for canola and $2 for the stir-fry. So that would make the regular shelf price $4.99 for the 16oz canola. They had a 32oz canola oil (not on sale) below it for $7.99 (I think).

I noticed earlier in the thread someone said they had Back2Nature mac and cheese boxes on sale for like $2.00. I posted last week they're on sale here for $.99. When I saw that $2.00 "sale price" I had to do a double take because I coulda swore the regular shelf price was $1.99. Sure enough, I checked today and it was $1.99. So yeah, some weird pricing going on.

On a side note, since I know we all LOOOOOOOVE Zevia, I noticed they got some new flavors stocked here. Bring on the strawberry and cherry cola! If we're lucky at least one of them is halfway decent Wink

Is there another Zevia freebie? And were you being serious or sarcastic about loving Zevia?

Am asking because I see you're in Portland...might be able to hand off some Zevia to you if you're interested.

ETA: Just (2) 6-packs...so don't anyone get too excited lol!

LIO, I don't drink soda, but DH does, so I stocked up for him. But he still does not really like them except cream soda and grapefruit kind.

However, last time when I was shopping for Zevia, there were a couple who loaded their cart with Zevia too and they told me that they LOVE them. They bought them without any MQs, just the sale price ($3.50 each at that time with the $2.50 for 2 WQ). They told me that they bought them full price all the time, so with that sale, it was hard to not stock up. I handed them a few of $3MQs and they were thrilled.

So the fact is: Zevia HAS fans. Smilie

I don't drink soda either...picked up the free Zevia for out of town guests that I thought might enjoy them. But we ended up eating out most of the time...hence the leftover Zevia.

I think it was $4.49, so even if you have access to a $3/1 Q, it's still $.49. I fall in with the "most flavors taste horrible except two [cream soda + ginger ale]" crowd. But, I stopped drinking soda awhile back; I appreciate the offer though.

I got some cans leftover too, and I've run out of people to trick them...I mean...get them to try them. Big Grin

Hahaha...cute! Smilie

Ah well, I guess the coca cola and lemon-lime 6 packs are going to be donated during the postal drive. Just wanted to give them a happy home to someone who might enjoy them!

Heads up :: I actually DO love Zevia! One of the main reasons I check this thread since I have stopped couponing Smilie I have yet to see the new flavors in my stores but hoping it goes on sale again soon.

Haven't seen a $3 Q in a while though either -- where is it this time?

I found a $3 Zevia mq in the latest edition of Kiwi magazine. I picked up a six pack of most of the newer flavors last go-round when they were free, but have been a little hesitant to try any as my first experience (with lemon-lime) was less-than-stellar. DD is excited for the strawberry..hope she is not disappointed when we finally get around to opening up a can Embarrassment

Sadly, the Enjoy Life chocolate chips weren't on sale here.

But some of the Imagine cans were...not all flavors - which is too bad because I really liked the Split Pea. But really can't complain about free cans of Organic Chicken Pot Pie and Chicken noodle soup!
