Yes, I know you don't necessarily associate Whole Foods and Slickdeals, but I actually live a few blocks away from one(in the same shopping center as a CVS, lol), and I frequently stop in on the way back from the gym. No, they don't double coupons, and you usually can't get the outrageous deals that you can get at CVS or a conventional supermarket for that matter, but you can frequently get decent deals, not to mention lots of free samplesyummy And their '365' house brand is usually comparably priced to Trader Joe's, and cheaper than a comparable supermarket item. And maybe it's the economy, but I have noticed them getting considerably cheaper on some advertised items as of late.

Sales for Whole Foods stores are regional, although they seem to have some national deals on grocery items(canned and packaged foods). Sales tend to run on 2 and 4 week cycles, and new cycles tend to start on Wednesdays. They also tend to have regional sales, that run on the weekends or may also run on 2 week cycles(the "Madness" sales in the Northeast) that tend to feature regional deals like produce, meat, prepared food, bakery etc.

Your best bet to find out what's on sale at your local store, is to go to your store's website, which is located at www.wholefoodsmarket.com. Enter your zip code up top, and pick your store. In addition to the sales circular, there is often a calendar of store events, a twitter feed or facebook page.
One aspect of Whole Foods is that the stores tend to have a lot more "events" than a conventional supermarket. These can be promotions, contests,
sampling events, cooking classes. If your store calendar isn't posted online, there is always one at the store entrance. And while many of these promos are not worth a separate trip(though I have gotten some nice sample packs at times), if you are going to the store anyway, why not go when they are giving something away?

Whole Foods also distributes a coupon book in store, called "The Whole Deal". These are store coupons and are will NOT scan at other retailers, despite the bar codes. You should be able to combine them with a manufacturer coupon, but YMMV.

WHOLE FOODS DEALS

http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com

Whole Foods sales are a combination of national(usually grocery items) and regional(produce, meat, prepared food) check your store's circular at Wholefoods.com for your specific sale items.

Also, see if your store has its own Facebook page(example: https://www.facebook.com/WFMCharlesRiverPlaza or twitter feed example: https://twitter.com/WFM_Swampscott

In addition to sales, you can find information for product sampling events, giveaways, and other promotions. If you're going to go to the store anyway, why not go when they're giving something away?

Get your meat marinated LMAO

on a separate note:

i went to buy some marinated organic chicken, meat counter person said they can't sell pre-marinated organic chicken, because the meat area has non-organic meats, and so once they process the organic meat, it is considered non-organic, even though in reality it is organic.

ahh, good to know.

however, once they give you this disclaimer, if you select a cut of prepackaged organic free range chicken, or organic grass fed beef or what have you, they will happily baste it in the marinade of your choice should you so want. which means while you shop around the store, and then drive home, the meat can marinate and then you can cook it as soon as you get home and put away the other groceries. it's a decent time-saver if you don't mind the brief contact with non-organic meats in the counter area - i figured it's a good option to keep in mind for when one is really crunched for time.

I'm glad my spidey-sense went off right before I headed out. I printed this out just in case, and lo and behold, they had everything stocked.

Lots of good deals for $.99 such as the appetizers, desserts, and fried rice. I didn't see any ice cream, just pastry and lava cakes. Pizzas were $3.99 after Q, too small for the price imo.

However, it does say "one per transaction," and I got called out on it. The cashier was pretty strict on it, and I didn't bother to ask if it was cool to do multiple transactions since it was busy and I didn't feel a very harmonious vibe from him.

The new Nov. magazine has a $1/1 any Sambazon WFQ. They're not on sale ($2.99) but still free if you got the $2/1 IPQ. I made the mistake of buying (2) of them and what I think happened is that the second swipe of the WFQ beeped to deny overage and the cashier just cancelled it, so I got overcharged by $1...or technically $.98.

I always do MQ then WFQ, maybe I should reverse it. At least that way if it beeps, the cashier would be more likely to speak up and say something.
My Sambazon $2 MQ expired yesterday, so I stopped by and was happy to find the $1WFQ in the new coupon book. I used 4 in one tranny and all scanned beepless. Can't remember order of the Q scanned though.

I used 2 x $2 WF frozen Qs in one tranny too and cashier punched in the PLU and it worked fine. No question asked. I got a bag of frozen veggies (medley) and a bag of Pot Stickers for 99 cents each. Will have to go back for these.
Also the Organic Braeburn Apple is on sale for 99 cents/lb.

I asked if I could use the $2 Q on 365 brand, but they said no, even though they said it's the exact same brand, just rebranded.

I tried buying Sambazon again doing SQ then MQ, but cashier knew ahead to override the overage, so I didn't find out if it'd beep that way.

Arrowhead mills organic yellow cornmeal $1.66 - $1/1 Q = $.66

WF brand prices here to use with $2/1 Q:
pizza $5.99
appetizers $2.99/$3.99
ice cream pint $3.69
desserts $2.99/$3.99
fried rice $2.99/$3.99
pasta type pouches $3.99
meat+rice pouches $4.99
stir fry /w meat $4.99

They also have 2013 calenders for $3 that have various Qs, nothing too exciting from what I skimmed over, though.

Anyone know if it's the coupon itself that's only valid today, or the Facebook offer? I can't get to the store today. Frown

any west-coaster out there should RUN, not walk to WF. I bought a frozen food item and before I showed my email, the cashier said it was my lucky day. Then I told him I also had an email and he let me have two for free. He had a stack of in-store vouchers, so I think that anyone who buys the WF frozen may get one for free.
Of course, YMMV!

Many of you may have picked up the think thin bars with the summer's great deals. there's a recall on many varieties (salmonella potential) , see the fda site below:

http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm323822.htm

Don't overly fret, they haven't had any sickness reports. I'm probably going to take them back to WF.

Thanks for the post.
I still have a lot left. Can we get money back from this recall? Checked the recall site, they did not mention anything about refund.

Answer my own question, returned the bars back to WF, got store credit easily without receipts.

Stir Fry veggies were $2.99

What are the $2.99 appetizers? The only appetizers that I could find were the spinach phyllo dough ones. Yum, but they were $5.99.

samosas [potato and pea, chicken tandoori]
potstickers
egg rolls

There's a pretty decent selection here (different varieties), maybe four rows of shelves, and I'd say most are priced at $2.99 here. Poster above said the samosas with peas was $2.69 for him, but I'm pretty sure they were $2.99 here....so regional pricing does take effect.
