Thread Details

Yes, I know you don't necessarily associate Whole Foods and Slickdeals, but I actually live a few blocks away from one(in the same shopping center as a CVS, lol), and I frequently stop in on the way back from the gym. No, they don't double coupons, and you usually can't get the outrageous deals that you can get at CVS or a conventional supermarket for that matter, but you can frequently get decent deals, not to mention lots of free samplesyummy And their '365' house brand is usually comparably priced to Trader Joe's, and cheaper than a comparable supermarket item. And maybe it's the economy, but I have noticed them getting considerably cheaper on some advertised items as of late.

Sales for Whole Foods stores are regional, although they seem to have some national deals on grocery items(canned and packaged foods). Sales tend to run on 2 and 4 week cycles, and new cycles tend to start on Wednesdays. They also tend to have regional sales, that run on the weekends or may also run on 2 week cycles(the "Madness" sales in the Northeast) that tend to feature regional deals like produce, meat, prepared food, bakery etc.

Your best bet to find out what's on sale at your local store, is to go to your store's website, which is located at www.wholefoodsmarket.com. Enter your zip code up top, and pick your store. In addition to the sales circular, there is often a calendar of store events, a twitter feed or facebook page.
One aspect of Whole Foods is that the stores tend to have a lot more "events" than a conventional supermarket. These can be promotions, contests,
sampling events, cooking classes. If your store calendar isn't posted online, there is always one at the store entrance. And while many of these promos are not worth a separate trip(though I have gotten some nice sample packs at times), if you are going to the store anyway, why not go when they are giving something away?

Whole Foods also distributes a coupon book in store, called "The Whole Deal". These are store coupons and are will NOT scan at other retailers, despite the bar codes. You should be able to combine them with a manufacturer coupon, but YMMV.

samosas [potato and pea, chicken tandoori]
potstickers
egg rolls

There's a pretty decent selection here (different varieties), maybe four rows of shelves, and I'd say most are priced at $2.99 here. Poster above said the samosas with peas was $2.69 for him, but I'm pretty sure they were $2.99 here....so regional pricing does take effect.

Thank-you. Will rep..

Stir Fry veggies were $2.99

What are the $2.99 appetizers? The only appetizers that I could find were the spinach phyllo dough ones. Yum, but they were $5.99.
The pot stickers (pork and veggies) are $2.99 and they are so yummy (better than the Ling-Ling, IMHO)
The pot stickers (veggies) are $3.99. I did not buy this one.
The egg rolls are $3.99, I haven't tried yet.

I know I'm late in posting these deals (as they end 11/13 here), but maybe they will start for some SD'ers tomorrow:

Arrowhead mills organic whole wheat flour, $2 (reg. 3.99)
- $1/1 ip (mambo or coupons dot)
= $1

Arrowhead organic whole grain pastry flour and enriched unbleached white flour where the same sale price.

Sunspire organic fair trade 42% cacao semi-sweet baking chips, $3.50
-1/1 wf whole deal q
- 1/1 ip (mambo sprouts)
= $1.50 --- WOOT! this is a fabulous price as they are usually $6.39/bag at my WF and these are great for the kiddos I bake for whom have anaphylactic allergies to dairy, eggs, nuts, and tree nuts. (Note: they do contain soy.)

I wish I had known about the chips ahead of time, I would have fired up my ancient laptop so I could have bought more bags...hth someone Smilie

National sale this Friday is NY Strip Steak for 9.99/lb, regular price is 19.99/lb EEK!

http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/b...riday-1116

Also, putting in a big thumbs up for the Whole Foods Caramel Apple Blossoms, they are in the frozen dessert section and 2.99, or .99 after the $2 off coupon here:

http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=54145136&postcount=2152

There are 2 in the package. I will try the Chocolate Lava Cake(3.99) tomorrow and report back!

And if you are interested in the $3 Whole Planet calendar, there is a list of coupons here(on the right side). The coupons seem slightly better than the ones typically found in their coupon circulars. I would guess at least they will have longer expirations.

Has anyone tried Trader Joe's Turkey-Less roast? Wondering how it compares to Tofurky.

It's in the refrigerated section at Trader Joes. It is $9.99 and includes gravy, so cheaper than the Tofurky feasts I've found. I went ahead and bought one, Trader Joe quality is usually very good.

When I was in WF the other day, I noticed that there were new tags up and the new end date was 11/27/12.

Also, Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips were on sale, $3.99
- (2) $0.55/1 enjoy life, any, printable [enjoylifefoods.com]
- $1.50/2 enjoy life, any $2 or more wf q from the previous whole deal (exp 11/30)
= $2.69/ea, not as good as sunspire, but still a pretty decent deal for these type of chips! And for those with dietary restrictions they are dairy free, nut free, and soy free.
