So I purchased this on the first 40% off deal. I had them look through their stock for the right model. The 4k screen kills it for me. So this Pro/Con list is from the past 2 months of ownership.

My price: $666.36 (they should have called this the Omen... LOL GET IT?)
I bought an SSD 100$, stick of ram 30$ ended up being 140 after tax.

These are the specs I ended up with for 800$ usd.

500gb SSD
GTX 960m
16gb Ram
i7 6700HQ
15.6 FHD screen
Illuminated keyboard (stock on all models for all of you confused)

Pros:
-All initial AND commonly known trackpad and running issues in general were fixed with drivers and os installation to SSD. I'm guessing the stock 1TB drives are just fail product. Do not recommend usage even just for storage.
-Illuminated keyboard is made for minimalist and more than does its job of helping you type in the dark. I've never had this before, even on my desktop so I'm kinda excessively hyped up about being able to see the keys lol.
-Screen is great with minimal glare from extreme light sources.
-Battery life is average - this is GREAT considering it's a beast inside. The IPS/4k touch makes this thing a desktop since you'll always be on a wall.
-Full size keyboard - huge thing for me as I use it as a mobile work station. Video editiing, programming, and porn.
-Ventilation. Plenty of it. A tiny bit loud, but if you're doing anything worth making it loud you need it anyways.
-Build Quality- Solid. If you're looking for super sleek aluminium brushed unicorn feathers, look elsewhere. It's just a solid machine.
-SUPER easy to upgrade. Once back opens , all the slots are open and inviting. Waiting for you to insert... ok im gonna stop there.
-HDMI. porn on the big screen. OOPS I mean work....
-BeastMode - Runs everything great. If you're looking to run the latest and greatest AAA games at over 9000 fps , buy a desktop and spend thrice as much. I've played plenty of old AAA games perfect 60 fps on this.
-Other pros are the basic menials of appreciating what you own and not staring at its flaws.
-Thin for what it is. After comparing it to others in it's class, its about the same as any other high end lap burner.
-Ethernet port. LAN baby. LAN.

Cons
- Finish- Attracts oils like a 18year girl old 10/10 in a frat party. I have to keep windex wipes in my bag just to not be embarrassed in public. No lie.
-IPS- Wasn't a huge thing for me, but I could see it being highly important to color accurate work. Plus IPS = godlike.
-A bit heavy- Not a huge complaint from me, but you dainty teenagers and nerds might hurt yourself whipping it out of a bag. Would be hard to whip out genitals after hurting wrist and normal carpel tunnel forming activities such as computering too much.
-Not flashy. Again something I actually like, but i gotta say the flashy ones look pretty flashy.
-Trackpad position. Bad, but not that bad. I don't palm anymore but i did when i first started using it extensively. Will become second nature quickly unless yo have monster hands.
-Illuminated keyboard. Might just be mine, but the low setting is the same as the high setting. I put it on low just in case my computer decides to drain more power because of the label.

I love this thing. My main gripe is the oil thing... Best cure I have found is to buy a custom sticker keyboard cover and case. An extra 50$ value I don't care to spend, but I might... 2 months now no problems other than I still suck at CS:GO and I almost broke it in half cause I suck at League.

Other than that I think this is a huge steal compared to the other deals on the market. Once the 985m's start getting out classed we will see the 970m's+ getting within this price range.
For what its worth, that Acer was a good deal but was only an i5 (dual core) vs this i7 (quad core), and had a 940m vs this 960m w/4gb. Thats a decently big jump in performance, especially if you're doing any type of rendering, graphics work, transcoding, etc the quad core i7 + hyperthreading will blow away the dual core i5.

Hybrid drive is a spin drive with some SSD cache built in. Its designed to store core OS data/commonly accessed data on the SSD portion to speed up its retrieval, and most other raw files on the spin portion.

Hope that helps! bounce

same price before.

if you can upgrade from this exact link, then yes, rebate will work (I did see you can upgrade to 4k for example, so it'll work, yes)

The previous deal on Feb. had $350 coupon, this one is $300 coupon+ $50 rebate, not as good as the old one. I would jump if it is $150 rebate, or just wait for another deal.

Back when this deal ran in March, I got this with the 4k screen and absolutely love it! Upgrade the memory and M2 SSD separately. I got the components much cheaper from Newegg and Amazon, and they were a snap to install.

BTW, mine shipped with a totally black case. I wouldn't expect the red in the picture, though it would be nice.

What's the max memory you can install?

Man if this had an illuminated keyboard or at least the option to add it I'd probably jump on this.

Nice really? is that a safe bet this one does too? They don't specify it in the description, they only say "with optional illuminated keyboard" but there's no option to add it.
