Last years post on this has been active recently and there is some good info there. http://slickdeals.net/f/7833105-powerstroke-subaru-electric-start-3100-psi-pressure-washer-269-99-costco?v=1&src=SiteSearch

I recently found a 2700PSI Subaru Powerstroke at Walmart. It doesn't have the electric start, but does have the EA190V engine and what looks like the same pump, making me wonder if the PSI ratings aren't exactly accurate.

All,
I'm looking to purchase this today and I thought this was a decent deal (it was a +14 last year when they had the same deal.) I was unable to get the clearance walmart deal and I need to a pressure washer for the weekend. I could not find another 3000+ PSI pressure washer with a decent engine for less. The electric start is a bonus since now my wife can use this.

I thought the Subaru engine was on par with a B&S motor. Does anyone have any opinions on this? Anyone purchase this last year with any recommendations.

Would someone recommend a difference deal out there right now?

Thanks in advance all for the help.

From what I have read and been told by my neighbor who is a small engine mechanic, the Subaru EA190V is far superior to Briggs and even better than the consumer grade Hondas. $270 is a good price for this compared to what is readily available out there. The engine alone sells for nearly that price. If it hadn't been for the timing of the highly YMMV Walmart clearance deal, I think this post would've gotten much more love - like last year.

This is tied with the lowest price I have seen for this unit, which was 269.99 from Costco this time last year.

Thank you for the information. Unless someone strongly disagrees with you I will be buying it tonight.

Is this in club too, or just online? I just bought an Excell 3100 unit from HD for the same price. That is supposed to have a better pump but the engine looks bad, no soap tank, no electric start. Shipping would kill the deal for me...

Any opinions on comparing this with the Excell below:

I don't know about the pump, but the engine on that is the Chinese clone of the Honda which sells for under $100 at Harbor Freight. They did a pretty good job of copying Honda and Honda parts are compatible and available if it ever breaks. So the engine isn't terrible and would probably last for many hundreds of hours if you change the oil regularly, keep a fresh air filter on it, change the sparkplug occasionally, empty it of fuel including the carburetor bowl when storing, and never feed it fuel with ethanol in it.

But I would go actual Honda or Subaru if it was available to me for a similar price.

This is in store as well.

This was at my local store for the same price, so no need to pay for shipping

I've got love for Oregon (bro-hug). I regularly carry and use high end knives, and my Oregonian made Benchmades are some of (if not the) finest all around knives I've ever handled. Fantastic company, products, and customer service. Nothing like made in America!

Sorry for the tangent folks. Carry on Big Grin

I think I paid ~$250 for this last year from costco, but it was near the end of the stock and may have been marked down locally
