probably even given it's the same hardware underneath
SNB [smallnetbuilder.com] has the Archer a notch above

I own the archer and am very impressed. Quick and easy set-up (plugged in my printer and hard drive, and can now access both wirelessly). I'm very pleased with my purchase (had to go through three routers until I was pleased)

Darn I just got the archer c9 yesterday. I wonder if they will be able to apply the coupon. I paid 129.

own the archer c9 and its rock steady except one time it lost its setting to utilize PC MAC address which caused me a whole night of confusion about why my cable modem was getting ip, but router wasn't

needless to say, tech support was persistent, but ultimately unable to help.

ended up figuring it out on my own. other than that one issue (I thought the router literally just stopped working in terms of maintaining the ip address) rock steady and coverage is great

So the coupon drops the price to $107.10 and then there is a $10 MIR.

I have not had great luck with Newegg rebates.

Damn, just got the ASUS RT-AC66W for $89 (+$10 rebate). Torn on whether I should return that and get this one instead. USB 3.0 port is nice to have, and SmallNetBuilder has the C9 performing slightly better on most tests. Not sure it's worth the extra $20, though. Any advice is appreciated.

the 68 is much better than the 66. I have the 66 and it is OK but reports have said the extra proc speed is highly beneficial in the 68

Not, at all, interested the lower-rated, more expensive 68. I clearly am in the market of a $100 range, and taking advantage of these sales.

Looking into a bit a further is making me think I should stay with the 66. Reviews on Amazon say that the USB 3.0 port on the C9 works at a snail pace, so that doesn't seem worth the cost. It also doesn't have built in VPN server, like the 66 does, which is something I plan to use.
