Yup, and it's even dropped as low as $39.50 recently. Good price relative to what it used to be, but not a price to jump on as an impulse buy.

really? what store had it for 39? I'm still waiting for a higher price drop before I buy a few of these.

Not too bad of a price. I picked one up long ago for $50 and have been happy with it. It took a while to find where I wanted to put it but finally settled on casting light on the wall underneath my glass desk.

For what it's worth, the frustration-free packaging version [amazon.com] is a penny more at $50 even, in case the pricing on this one goes back up.

Can someone explain the difference between these and something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B016NVSI7G/
or this (for a fifth of the price)
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DC606KM/
both A's on Fakespot

Is the bridge thing the panty-dropper? These curiously seem like the Beats of lightbulbs....

Those bulbs aren't Zigbee or Z-wave, so they're only good with the remote they come with or at best a phone app. No integration with home automation systems. Maybe fine if you only want limited control and functionality. Not my thing.

Seems pretty dim, only 120 lumen. The A19 bulb is like 600...

These work with HomeKit, by far the most advanced home automation ecosystem out there.
