Just Bought An XPS 15 9550 (i7, 4K, 16 gigs ram, 512GB SSD) for $1800-$400 trade in - did I get a deal?

I caught the tail end of a sale on the Microsoft Store and got the 4K Touch Dell XPS 15 9550-4444SLV Signature Edition Laptop, Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD for $1800 + tax, plus a $400 credit for trading in an old mac laptop I was intending to sell and expecting less than $400 for.

I've been watching the XPS15 for a few months now and this seems like a decent deal to me, considering it is new and MS Signature Edition (no bloatware). I expect I could get it cheaper refurb (someone referenced ~$1200 for a similar configuration on a thread somewhere), but (1) the 9550's seem to sell out instantly when they hit the Dell refurb site; (2) there seem to be mixed reviews on Dell refurbs generally; and (3) my wife has really been on me to pull the trigger on a laptop - my 7 year old desktop has finally gotten to the point where Lightroom, which we both use, is unusable.

The sale ends at 12:00am PDT on 5/9, so I had to pull the trigger, but I still have some time to cancel or return.

What say you, slickdealers?

Interested in how tiny those desktop icons look on a 15" 4k screen. o_0

From the research I did, apparently Windows is scaled correctly, as is Lightroom CC. For my purposes, that should be enough for now.

I would have preferred a Mac, which has better high-res scaling, but I don't want to wait an indeterminate amount of time to spend much more money on a laptop.

Update. The price dropped to $1,697 and the Microsoft Store honored the price drop for me. I have a hard time feeling bad about this deal at $1697-$400 laptop trade in.

Do you even get 4k resolution with a 15" screen? Just curious.
