That Mushkin 480GB was $96 yesterday. Not a huge price difference, but SSD's keep coming down in price. I expect to see 960GB/1TB ~$100ish by the end of the year.

And DDR4 will be free! [pcpartpicker.com].

But I'd be happy to see your expectations come to fruition, especially if it means we can start picking up 2TB drives for around $250.

Free stuff rules! Cool

And I could definitely use some 1TB SSD's for OS drives, it's nice that 120's are getting so cheap, but for my needs, they're just too small. And in a few more years I'm sure we'll have 16TB SSD's at consumer-grade and price levels: http://gizmodo.com/samsungs-16tb-...1762536707

When that happens, I think I'll upgrade my NAS box Wink

Decent prices, but I am still holding out hope for a decent Memorial Day sale somewhere that includes the Samsung EVO.

Ordered Samsung 250GB mSATA 850 EVO Solid State Drive for (76.xx) from jet which is on its way. Should I return that and order 480 GB PNY CS1211 2.5" SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD7CS1211-480-RB) ($99.99) instead? Desktop has msata slot and hard drive died a few days back. thanks.

You could buy PNY 480Gb at Newegg for $99 or the PNY 240Gb at PNY.com for $50.99 (+shipping + tax) if you apply with coupon code SIGNUP15 for 15% off of $59.99. Just checked, coupon code still valid.

"ATC9001 - Monday, April 18, 2016 - link
I agree from most "prosumers" which are frequent to read this article, but for the mainstream user, I don't think its worth it (spending the $30+). Any SSD is better than a HDD, but some garbage bargain bin SSDs aren't worth the cheap price (this being the first exception). I know most people (including myself) think the same thing alexdi posted when reading this....is this going to beat the evo? It doesn't, but at the same time it's not far off from it, and $30 bucks can cause it to break a price plane for some mid range users.

Each person has there own utility curve or price performance idea, and for me, this is the first drive since the 840 EVO was released in which I would say it's not worth the x dollars to just get the evo!"

And I agree with ATC9001. If it were me I would return it provided that you don't pay the return shipping fee and/or restocking fee. If there is, then I wouldn't bother with the effort to return it.
