I have this system which I bought last year with the amazing black Friday deal. got the hub, 4 cameras, 5 door sensors, 2 motion sensors and a smart outlet for $150. don't think that deal will happen again.

at $80 this is a good system, if nothing else than for a good baby monitor. the indoor cameras have intercoms and lullaby playback and more importantly, motion detection with alerting which is instant.

I sold my smart things hub when I got this and have been very happy with it.

Check the reviews on Amazon, definitely NOT worth it!
This review [amazon.com] on Amazon seems to be a pretty good summary of the pros and cons of the system, and suggests that many of the negative reviews on Amazon are from people who didn't really understand what they were buying.

I think I will bite and give it a shot. Setup sounds easy so I shouldn't have to invest a ton of time to determine if it's going to work for my needs. Also e b a t e s is offering 15% cash back, which sweetens the deal a bit.

Is this the same system, or are they different? Different model numbers seems to suggest different system.

Upon closer inspection, the woot deal seems to be the same hub, but the cameras are the indoor variety, not the heavier-duty outdoor cameras. You could buy both and have a nice little indoor/outdoor 4 camera security system for $140.
