Boardwalk Free Plan

Available Time:

Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 9:30 am PT Pacific until Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10pm PT Pacific

Open to new subscriptions only.

Loaner Phones Available

This new plan is flexible and allows members to customize it to their own personal needs.

Details:

3,000 minutes, 3,000 texts, and your choice from one of the below monthly data packages (a minimum Top Up of $25 applies)

a. 1.5 GB LTE / full speed for $0, tethering included per month
b. 2.5 GB LTE / full speed for $6.99 per month
c. 3.5 GB LTE / full speed for $9.99 per month
d. Unlimited Data (32k) for $0 per month

Great for email, Google Maps, light internet browsing
e. Unlimited Data (64k) for $6.99 per month

Great for email, Google Maps, light internet browsing, Facebook, and Instagram
f. Unlimited Data (128) for $9.99 per month

Great for email, Google Maps, light internet browsing, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pandora (with short buffering times)

Choose from one of the following:
a. No tethering for $0 per month (does not apply to the 1.5 GB choice above)
b. Tethering for $4.99 per month. You can also choose tethering for the unlimited plan, although it is not recommended.

Attention!

Overage data is billed in 1 GB intervals at $12.99 for each additional GB. A la carte charges would be $51. That’s a savings of $38! This plan is safer to use with children. Other overages are 5 cents per unit for talk, text, and MMS.

Minimum Top Up $25
A $25.00 Top Up is required to cover overages. If, and only if, the Top-Up balance reaches $0, another $25.00 auto Top Up will be automatically charged to your credit card on file.

Members can choose the standard data option, 1.5 GB including tethering. Other options include an additional GB of data for the low price from $6.99. We even went over the popular Bob Feller add-on and allowed a 3.5 GB add-on for an additional $9.99, a combination that normally brings the allotments up to 3 GB only.

RingPlus also added some unlimited data packages if you want to make sure not to go over your allotments. The unlimited add-on starts at $0 and goes up to $9.99. To be clear, RingPlus doesn’t market those plans as unlimited plans because the data speed is throttled, but more as a plan that prevents data overages, a functionality that many parents can appreciate.

Loaner Phones are available during the promo.

1. ZTE FLASH N9500 (REFURBISHED) available for a $100 deposit.

2. iPhone 4 available for a $65 deposit.

Shipping Included!

No tax!

These phones are just loaner phones, and you get your deposit back when you are done with if it's still in good condition.

poor merchant reputation: MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A CALL IN LESS THAN EVERY 60 DAYS, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE DOWNGRADED TO FREE PLAN (125min/50text/25MB) WITH NO NOTICE. THIS WAS STARTED SINCE 07/11/2016.

If you have an existing top up balance >$0, you do NOT have to top up again until your balance hits 0. You still have to pay the monthly fee if you choose paid data.

Phone sources: RingPlus Store, RingPlus classifieds, Swappa, eBay, Craigslist, locally used phones (verify passes BYOD checker).

Swap outs and cancellations have usually been allowing immediate new lines: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=83732938&postcount=1271
....Starting new lines immediately from canceled phones may not always work, use placeholder workaround for immediate activation if you run into that issue.
....If you get billing cycle delay, it means until the renewal date on your plan, not a fixed 30 days. Placeholder + swap is quick fix.
....See more on cancellations at bottom of wiki.
Note upgrade requirements per plan
FED - Many reports are that R+ prepaid phones that have been deactivated are passing FED checks! One failure reported May 6. There is no guarantee.
BYOD Your Own Phone - Test Eligibility here: https://ringplus.net/#byosd
Port in is NOT required.
Separate accounts are typically recommended for multiple lines - not locking into a single email address

Please refer to this Extensive Wiki which can answer many questions you have about R+ or getting starting, Including Credit Card, Gateway Rejected: AVS / Fraud errors / CSA:

If you are completely new to R+, have a look at :https://social.ringplus.net/discu...vice?new=1

FED - PLEASE READ ... Important Activation Notice Regarding Prepaid Phones referred to as FED = Financial Eligibility Date https://social.ringplus.net/discu...-phones/p1
As of April 17, 2016, per our carrier partner Sprint, Members and potential Members will no longer be able to activate prepaid devices which are not eligible under Sprint's FED policies (explained below). Such prepaid devices will no longer pass FED until actual eligibility date is met. This is not a new Sprint policy. It is merely a system update to the Sprint system to comply with Sprint's existing FED policies, and to close the gap in the system that allowed such devices to pass FED and be activated on carriers other than those that originally sold the device ("originating carrier").

FED - As of 4/17, in order to activate a Sprint/Boot/Virgin prepaid phone with RingPlus, the phone must have been active with its original carrier for 12 months.
  • Already activated phones are not affected because they will not trigger an FED check
  • But if you deactivate a phone, you will trigger an FED check when you (re)activate the phone.
  • You will no longer be able to activate a new-in-box Sprint/Boost/Virgin prepaid phone (e.g., from Best Buy) with RingPlus.
  • Upgrading a line to a different plan is NOT an activation, but swapping to an inactive phone will mean an FED check
  • To date, all R+ phones which have been deactivated are passing the FED check, although this is not guaranteed by policy
Roaming included with M+, Roaming for non-M+ $50+tax
Per minute / per MB charges still apply.

https://social.ringplus.net/discu...-top-up/p1

FreedomPop phones purchased post FED (04/16/16) must be on FP for a minimum of 6 months before FP will release the ESN.

If you cancel your current line with R+ then you will lose the remaining top-up balance for that line, your phone number, and the phone from the canceled line. Also, in some cases, you will not be able to register a new free line using the phone from the canceled line until the end of the billing cycle (<1 day up to 30 days max), although you can use a placeholder for new registrations and swap in the canceled phone for $1.99 as an easy workaround if that happens. To this point, all deactivated R+ phones have been able to reactivate new R+ plans despite FED policy, although the billing cycle may come into play on occasion.

R+ classified is now open for business. https://social.ringplus.net/class.../items/all

Unlimited Data (32k) lol.
The Infinity Free plan at 64K is not bad enough?
Looks like they start charging for data to cover the losses from FED.

This is what I look for first each time Ringplus puts out a new "deal".

"Overage data is billed in 1 GB intervals at $12.99 for each additional GB. A la carte charges would be $51. That’s a savings of $38! This plan is safer to use with children. Other overages are 5 cents per unit for talk, text, and MMS."

a. 1.5 GB LTE / full speed for $0, tethering included per month

Should be good enough for Front Page.

and before you ask.

chatmsd:
Good observation. I think the good old times of great free upgrades with huge data packages are in history books now. It looks like we will never see the likes of Borg, Momentum, Blissful, Cheerful etc. again.

R+ Staff. RingPlus is just offering different plans to give members a choice. If we don't offer a up-grade list right now doesn't mean we will not offer upgrade list in future. This is is just "the weekly menu" Our end goal is and has always been free cell service for all our members. We are on your side.

Is it just me or does this company have a ponzi-scheme like business model?

Add tethering to the unlimited data and get cheap internet. You can even pretend you're back in the 90s with those speeds.

This seems like much worse than the previous front pages plants which were up to 3.2/3200/3200 for free. Am I missing something?
