Most cost effective upgrades to keep my old AM3+ computer in the game?

Looking to play overwatch and in the future battle field 1.. Right now I have an AMD 6100 overclocked to 4.6ghz. 8gbs of DDR3 ram, value speed 1333hz or whatever and a R9 270x.. I can play overwatch on high but sometimes I get a little slow down. Not sure if it is the CPU or the video card. Thinking about doing crossfire R9 270x or I have a 7950 for crossfire too. Another used card should only cost me 140 or less. Just looking to get smooth gameplay on ultra at 1080p..

I know new video cards are coming out but 300 bucks seems like overkill to play 2 video games.

Can I squeez a bit more out of my current rig with a video card upgrade or is this shitty 6100 AMD going to fark it up? I have an 850w PSU so I got the juice to upgrade.

You're better off just selling the 270 and getting a better single card rather than spend all that money getting SLi with poor scaling and support. Sell the card for that $140, and use that total ~280 or whatever to buy either a used 970 rn or wait for the GTX 1060 to come out in june (which runs about the same price and is roughly as powerful as the GTX 980 Ti).
SLIing is almost always a waste.

I'd look for some 390/390x deals particularly with a new launch looming. Set a deal alert.
