I am hoping someone wakes up to tell me if this is a good buy.

This seems to be a good buy. Refurb for sure but $350 is pretty low for a 55" LG

rtings gives it a 6.1 overall. But it is a 55" $350 refurb and i think I can live with that trade off.

Lot of good ratings on amazon.

Arrrgghhh its too early for this stress!!!

I don't even need a tv. I was going to wait till next year for an decent model.

My thoughts exactly, less than $50 for an ext warranty too

What is the regular warranty for refurbs? What exactly does the 3 year warranty cover? Any consensus as to whether warranties are worth it for these refurb TVs?

we're talking about a 55" LED Full HD from a major line manufacturer. Get a squaretrade warranty and jump on this.

The only other comparable deal would be the fry's deal of a new Samsung 50" LED Full HD smart tv for 397 after promo code, but that's also 5" less and $50 more.

I bought the TV and warranty as a hold me over until I see the 4k I want. The sound needs tinkered with because it adds lots of bass to the vocals, but other than that I am very happy with it for the price. If it dies in 3 years I just view it as a $50 tv rental lol.

If you have bright lights near it, you get a rainbow effect, but who watches TV with the lights cranked up?

The OTA tuner was better than any of the other TVs in my house even though this one is on the longest cable run from my splitter.

You will want to add a Roku, FireTV or Chromecast to make up for the lack of smart features.

How would this TV handle video gaming? I plan on using it mostly as a netflix, youtube, and movie watching but I also want the option to stream my games via steam link and play them on this TV. I know that rtings website gave it a mediocre score for gaming but, I am no TV snob so don't know if that changes the equation.

I went ahead and bit. I bought one of these about 2 years ago, but it was 49" and not refurbished (49LB5550 ). I've been happy with it, so I figured I'll try LG again. The lack of HDMIs is a bit annoying but manageable.

Really tempting my old 720P 51 inch plasma is dying (lines through left side) and I wanted to go a little bigger. 10% cash back with upromise too if you have their mastercard.

I have one and just bought another refurb, you can get the extended warranty through Walmart for 3 years... excellent deal and if you're worried about the lack of HDMI inputs you can get a HDMI switch, problem solved
