Found this while looking around for the next seat for my daughter.

RECARO Performance Rally Convertible Car Seat in Raven Color is $180 at Babies R Us. This is a $300 car seat everywhere else and still $60 cheaper than buying it at Buy Buy Baby with a common 20% coupon. The Knight color is still $300. The seat is a new model, but the handful of reviews out there are positive.

(sorry, I thought that was included, my bad)

From the website:
  • QuickFlip recline foot and rear-facing recline ensure a precise and easy installation and increased comfort for your rear-facing child
  • Two dual purpose built-in cup holders with Integrated Anti-Rebound Protection and removable inserts
  • Racing-Inspired Side Impact Protection Tested to International Standards
  • Twist-resistant buckle and hero technology prevents harness twisting and increases comfort
  • Cloud Comfort Memory Foam and Dual Air Flow Comfort System with CoolMesh and Built-In Shell Vents

I was able to price match at Buy Buy Baby so I could use some credit I had there, so that may also be an option for some (though they had to ship the Raven color to me, as they only had Knight in stock and can't PM unless it is identical in color, etc). Search does not reveal any hits for this, so I hope it's not a repost. Was unable to find any coupons that might work to try and make it even better.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Poor rear racing design IMO. No leveling system built into it. It literally says use a pool noodle to shim the seat level in the manual. The tether straps that connect to the vehicles seat are hard to tighten as well. No ratchet, just a "pull" type mechanism. Not a seat you'd move from car to car. Pain in the ass to install correctly .
Price match at Target by calling customer service because only available online. They are currently having a baby deal of $20GC back when spending $150. So essentially getting the car seat for $160. :-)

I bought the Recaro performance ride last year, and need to get one more car seat (only need front facing at this time), and am wondering if anyone can chime in with what's different with this v/s the Ride series?

Does it make sense to get a convertible if you need just a front facing that converts into a booster later on?

I don't have the Rally version but two previous models and there is the ability to rock the seat on a slider mechanism to have it more upright or less upright. No car seat will be able to sit level on every flavor of car and using noodles to level is not uncommon.

Reclining the seat does nothing for leveling it. The seat is leveled from the indicator located in the base. Not from the comfort positions ...

This worked for me thanks!

Target customer service is 1 (800) 440-0680

EDIT: Because the amount "pre authorized" is the full purchase price (before adjustments) they are actually sending me a $40 gift card!

Duly noted.

But it is not uncommon for noodles to be used to level car seats or bases.

If you need front facing only unless you are planning on using the convertible for another child I would get a dedicated front facing seat. I had the britax marathon/boulevard but sold them as my sons got older and got them in recaro performance/diono radian now
