Is this the best zoom lens you can get for this price? Refurbished is fine with me.

yep. Theres also the no-name brands or the 55-200mm which goes for $89 refurbished every so often, but they don't quite compare.

They sound like one of the many bait and switch camera companies out there. A few more bucks to get it directly from Nikon is totally worth it, and it also means that you'll actually get a lens

Plus, I'm not sure where it says what it is...used, refurbished or what. The last sentence does say "used for video only", which means what? I have no idea. That's another red flag. I would always go with a place like buydig or adorama.

Nikon brand, yes, definitely the cheapest you'll find a 300mm focal length. If you don't mind third party lenses, I have and like the Tamron 70-300 f/4-5.6 macro (2:1 ratio, so not a great macro, but still not bad to start) for ~$160 new. This is the non VC model, but it does have its own built in focus motor. It is slow to focus on poor lighting but am not sure if the Nikon would be better.

is this lens any good? Or is it just your typical kit tele? (almost all kit teles suck)

if you shoot full frame, why in the world would you be considering this anyway?

Is the difference between 200mm to 300mm a big significance if I have the 55-200 already?
