Is Dead Island: GOTY worth the $4 and the two days to download it with my
slow ass dsl connection? The reviews weren't all that great when the game first came
out and I never got around to buying it. I can add it top my steam list that I probably
won't live long enough to clear.

I thought the game was pretty enjoyable, if you enjoy zombie smashing fun, with the ability to craft weapons its good. I do recommend getting more then one though and giving it to a friend coop makes the game even better.

The backdrop of the story is excellent, its historical cause a lot of it takes place in tunnels built by the Soviets during WW2. Fighting varies from open area courtyards to tunnel warefare. In saying that I have it, playied it for 1 hour then added to my 100+ game back log for later.

I can't speak for Steam since I don't use it. Can't speak for Dead Island on PC since I played it on Xbox 360. I can speak for the game itself since I started and finished playing it last month. It's a very good, fun, enjoyable game but has a LOT of bugs and glitches. None of them are gamebreaking but they can be VERY frustrating. If you go in with the knowledge that the game has a LOT of issues, most of which reviews have never mentioned, you learn to anticipate and play around them if that makes sense. 4 bucks for GOTY? I'd say go for it but if you know you're not gonna play it anytime soon, don't bother. It might come down even further in price to the point of being free, especially since the remasters are coming later this month.

Warning: If you use multiple monitors, you have to turn off the other monitors as the game doesn't lock your mouse to the window.

I thoroughly enjoyed both, Dead Island and Riptide (never played Escape), on PS3. Even replayed them several times. Gameplay/strategy vary depending on the character you choose. For $4 each I bought them again for the PC so I can play around with the mods.

Definitive collection is coming out at the end of the month, but only for PS4/XB1, not for PC.

Also, I love buying from Amazon so I can use those no-rush shipping credits.
