Neo is going to be sick, 1080p with frame rates equal to 2012. Sweet!

This should be the CH-12xx chassis, which is the "new, improved, smaller, lighter, more reliable" model that came out last year (there was a gradual switch-over in bundles, but by the time of the COD bundle all consoles should be the "new" ones.). I have one of the "launch" and one of the CH-12xx and there's definitely a difference though they look very similar from a distance. The new one is slightly smaller and about 1 lb less; it runs cooler and the fan doesn't need to crank up as much as in the original. One visible difference is that the power and disc eject switches are mechanical (you can feel the switch click) compared to the "launch" which had touch-sensing controls. Apparently the touch controls (simple as it sounds to control 2 functions) were actually a major source of reliability problems in the "launch" version.

In all the discussion here I put "new" in quotes because it is widely (and wildly-) rumored that a updated PS4 may be announced very soon, as hinted by the "Neo" comments above. (and it doesn't just mean they were Matrix fans). So ask me in a few months and I'll probably say this isn't the "new" model anymore.

Overall this is not a bad deal but if you have GCU and other promos, it's lukewarm. Console $300, 2 very new games ~$50 ea, controller $40-50 when deals come up. So you're saving a bit. If you want a PS4 and want to play these new games (which I have and I'd recommend!), go for this deal; I don't think you'll be sorry. But price-wise it's about the same as you could get by assembling other deals and promos as they come up. So this is a one-buy solution that gives you a great console of the "current" version with some very new well-rated games, all delivered for a pretty good price.

I actually have one of the original PS4s but KEPT giving me issues and squaretrade is allowing me to purchase a new one at 399.99 so I would assume that this would be worth it at 429 right? I don't have any of the games that it comes with

they most definitely are fans of the matrix when it comes to their code names for hardware. psvr was known as project morpheus and now ps neo... next up is trinity, you can count on that... or cipher

Perfect timing - recent raise at work was burning a hole in my pocket and I've been itching to finally jump on the PS4 bandwagon. Thanks OP for posting the deal, and psmarin for the extra information you provided - definitely helped make my decision to pull the trigger on this.
