Deal here at Amazon for $38.44 (plus tax where applicable) shipped free for prime, or FS over $49 for non-prime (order 2): http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Ideas-...B00PE12ZJO

This is it, your last chance to get it as the status was officially changed to RETIRED this month: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Birds-21301

When stock disappears, it's gone forever--sold out everywhere else. This is a good price, considering it's less than MSRP for an officially retired set. I wouldn't be shocked to see this in the $60-$70 range within 6 months. I ordered 2 last month, and another 2 today (it's a strict limit of 2x per 7 days). If you're trying to circumvent their purchasing limits, they may flag you--but if you're brave, make sure you at least pay with a different CC on your alternate Amazon account.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I see they raised the non-prime FS minimum from $35 to $49 at the end of February. I'll edit the description.

Was that really worth a TD from you? Even the SD mods list amazon deals under $49 as FS when they setup frontpage deals:

The robin more than the rest. The hummingbird and blue jay actually look pretty good in person Wink

It's unlikely to hit the required 10,000 votes at this point, but I would absolutely buy that. All 3 look fantastic.

Should be a good investment piece if they end up not making anymore birds sets (they really should--was a big seller according to the lego store employee I spoke with). Anyhow, everyone loves birds! I'll be giving a few away as presents in December.

This was $31.50 a month ago. Why is this a SD for $7 more? It's not like it has a cool mini-fig that is going to make it a high demand set in the future. It's just a bunch of standard bricks made into bird shapes.

It's retired now. That's why. Get it while you still can.

Because there's no SD for a time machine with FS and it's retiring, this is an SD.

P.S. Bird shapes are cool.

Yeah, it was $31.50 for all of 3-4 hours if I remember correctly. If I'd seen it in time, I'd have bought plenty at that price. Standard time-machine statement, blah blah. Also, it wasn't retiring at that point--it was on sale at physical Lego locations at that price, which is why Amazon and Target price matched (again, for all of several hours while stock permitted). I checked with two Lego stores, and they were OOS that same day--and from what I was told they never got anymore in.

It's a SD because it's RETIRED. Not on sale or OOS on the lego site. RETIRED. The Leaning Tower of Pisa set was a FP deal at $30 (MSRP $35) last month because it was known to be retiring.

If you've got the time and energy to buy all of the required bricks piecemeal, that's just great. Collectors aren't going to want that.
