FWIW, you might have trouble activating the device if it is still active on another person's account.

From, literally, the first paragraph in the item description:

I wouldn't go for this. Buying refurbished modems can be gamble since as davy stated the device might still be linked to a previous customer's account.
I've seen a lot of people complain about refurbished modems that can't be used because they were previously activated.

Bought the 6183 last time. No issue getting it set up with Comcast and my speeds went from ~25mbps to ~45mbps

I'd advise to not buy from Woot, I got the sb6183 a month ago from them for this price, it took 2 weeks for it to arrive and their customer service is incredibly slow and useless. Also at the time it turned out that amazon was selling the same thing for just 6 bucks more(if you have prime for the free shipping). I'd have much rather have bought from amazon and receive the product within 2 days and have immediate customer service help, than to have tried to deal with Woot. That was the first and last time ever buying from them. I wanted it faster to be able to return the cable company's equipment and get rid of their equipment rental fees as well as switch to a different speed, which I couldn't do till the modem arrived. The modem itself has been perfectly fine.

Thanks! Bought one for my sis. I had bought the 6141 refurb quite a while back. Works great. Have a 100mb conn from TWC. Speedtests cap around 117 for me. the 6141 will handle up to ~300mbps, which from my experience with the pacing of internet speeds will last you for a very long time.

The 6141 is rated for 300mbps but since it uses 8 x 4 bonding you'll only see 100mbps on TWC http://www.timewarnercable.com/en...odems.html

totes: http://imgur.com/MM8LLSu. I pay for 100/10. SB6183 is 16 x 4. Just because TWC tells you they can't provision it doesnt mean you cant use it on the conn and get faster speeds, youll just have fewer max connections to play around with, but the lay person doesnt abuse that many simultaneous connections. They tried this back in the day with an old DOCSIS 2 modem and I made the rep provision it after listening to her tell me it "wasnt compatible" for 10 minutes. Eventually got her to humor me and it worked great for the following 2 years.
