I have a first gen BLU Studio Energy with an 8MP camera and the photo quality is good, not great. It's totally usable but it doesn't produce the best shots I've ever seen. It does take better shots than the stupid HTC One M7 did. I took 3,000 pictures in Hawaii with my M7 and once viewed on a computer I noticed how horribly pixelated the images were because of the 4MP Ultrapixel shooter on it. The sky looked like a painting with odd swirls in it. The Studio Energy takes much better shots than that, however it's not as impressive as the OnePlus Ones pictures which had a lot less motion blur in its shots, and definitely doesn't hold a candle to the Nexus 6P. Sorry that's a lot of info you guys might not give a crap about.

I almost bought this when it was on a special sale price of $99 at Staples. I did check one out at a local Fry's store. It is a large phone, and I personally don't like using a case, so I don't think it's great in the hand, being so large and all aluminum. Thought the bottom of the screen felt like plastic. It does NOT have the 82% screen to body ratio it was billed by Blu as having. It is much larger than they claim.

I own a Blu Life One X that I like, however I have had reason to call their customer service several times and always get off the phone wishing I hadn't bothered. They are completely worthless. I also contacted their tech support via their website (as customer support suggested) and they never responded. I even called customer support to tell them this and they said they found my email and would re-send it to tech support with a "priority" notice. Still nothing. And when the CSR said he was sending me an email with instructions about how to fix a problem I'm having, he didn't even do that. I would like to send my phone back in for warranty, but was informed I'd be without it for nearly a month, considering time in the mail and "10 to 15 business days" turnaround time. Then all they replace it with is a refurb, and I don't trust them to not send me a scratched one. So I decided to just live with the problem.

You get a lot of phone for the money, but I will never buy another Blu because of the company itself. I don't trust them. And we never got Marshmallow as promised. If you ask customer service about it, they give their answer for everything: "sorry, I don't know".

why no voLTE? according to bestbuy it has band 12 if you click on the specifications tab.

the part that scares me away is the mediocre mediatek chip http://www.gsmarena.com/blu_studi...s-7988.php

For a new phone, its an ok deal. If you can handle buying a used phone, a G3 is probably a better buy

I think 5.5 is the optimal size. Still fits in the pocket and you will find yourself not using a tablet or PC as much as your phone.

I've got the BLU Life One X or was it X One Life? Either way I like it a lot. It has a 13MP camera and I think the quality is good but I'm no photo guy. The phone if I'm to base BLU on it, I'd say they are a good company. I'd attach a pic here if I could.

EDIT : here... This was in DEC on the beach taken with the phone, as far as I remember no flash, everything on auto. Again, I'm not a photo buy I just point and shoot.

For around $150, you are better off with LG G2 or G3.

BLU is OK phone and not so great camera. Their advertised MP count is not accurate. I had upto 6 blu phones at one point, but sold all in CL. Having said that, I will buy this phone if it was $100

The last BLU phone came with the promise "upgradable to lollipop", and they never released one. To make it worse, they skinned the phone to look like lollipop, when it was running 4.1.1.
Don't trust them for any support.

I bought my daughter a Blue Life One (2015) to take with her on a trip to Italy specifically because it has a 13MP rear camera (Sony hardware). Over two thousand photos later, I can tell you the camera on that phone is excellent, and was well worth the hundred bucks for the camera alone, nevermind the phone. Even reduced for the web, the pics are crisp and clear with excellent contrast - in full-size thrown on a 55" television, they can be breathtaking.

She's still using hers. And I have one, too, although I'm not taking photographs in Verona...
