Going bonkers trying to find something like this !!!

Sam77 253 54 May 13, 2016 at 01:34 AM More Amazon Deals
Need help finding something for this situation. I have to pick up my 5 year old from the school playground. But I can not park the car and go and call her. Is there some kind of two way paging system which is really portable and has range around 500 feet. One unit that she can put around her neck and the other one I have with a button. All I need is something that beeps or buzzes on her unit when I press a button. I have searched high and low and the closest I found was http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V5X7ZXG?psc=1, but on top of being expensive, it is bulky. All I really want is two necklace pagers. I don't know if key finders can work in this situation too. Any help is appreciated and +4ed. Thanks.

Thanks, but in this case the transmitter, the round piece, is with me in the car and she will be carrying the rectangular receiver which is bulkier. I don't mind the transmitter being bigger in size since it will be in car but receiver has to be portable, could be carried around neck etc.

Thanks for putting me in right direction. But this will be overkill for me. Since it's a closed area, I am fine if I don't get GPS coordinates. All we need is a portable device that gives an audible alarm on her end when I use the transmitter unit in car.

Isn't she with someone that you could call when you get there?

train her to respond to a car honk. use a unique honking pattern and when she comes to the car, reward her with a treat and a pat on the head. repeat several times. im sure she can pick it up

It's a school playground with lots of kids and only the exit is monitored, but there is no one I can call and ask to send her. I almost never find space to park. If there was something available to buzz her, I can stay in the car and it also saves me the hassle to get down, walk inside and get her.

PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! It is incredibly annoying. It announces that you have no regard for other people. It teaches your child to have no regard for other people.

I must be missing something, but why not just use a hands free blutooth phone device in the car and voice call your child when you are approaching? Something like the below maybe?

try searching for "long distance pagers"

http://www.amazon.com/Daytech%C2%...ance+pager

you can also try small size 2 way radios. Kids will get a kick playing out of them and they can be used in many other circumstances too.

with 2 way radio, the kid can page you too Smilie

Range may be an issue here since bluetooth doen't have much.

The pager system has watch that either won't fit her or she will loose it soon.
Thanks. Walkie talkie seems to be the only viable option right now. It does much more, though all I need is something that beeps at her end, possibly something she can wear around her neck. Thanks again.

All you need is the range to your smart phone which is in the car with you either on your belt, in your pocket or more preferably mounted on the dash\visor. Voice commands to your phone via blutooth to talk\answer similar to Ford sync except you are going through a blutooth wireless earphone. It is the same way Ford sync communicates with your phone except here obviously the phone's voice recognition is used not Ford's.
