I love my Pebble Time. It has ePaper color display which even when the backlight is off it can still be seen dimly. The backlight comes on with a shake of the wrist. It has an up-to 7 day battery life. I get about 4 or 5 days out of mine before I have to charge it. It doesn't do all of the Android-wear things but for a smartwatch it's pretty smart. My doc wanted me to keep track of steps and notify me if I'm sedentary and the watch will do that. There's several apps and watchfaces to choose from. It can connect to your smartphone iPhone or Android and get notifications and such. It's not an Apple Watch or even an Android Watch, it's its own thing, but if you realize what you need it for - to stay on, tell the time, get notifications, do some health things and maybe do voice replies, then you are golden! For those programmers out there, the watchfaces and the apps can be programmed via their free online IDE/SDK in C. Neato. For $79 it's hard to go wrong. Mine came with a plastic protector to protect the bezel and I bought a screen protector on ebay (one dollar fifty for 6 I think it was). The bezel protector came off within a week so probably don't bother with that and my bezel still looks good after having it a month and I'm pretty rough, YMMV. I guess it depends if you're a Apple or Android fanboy only kind of person or if you'd be OK with a Pebble. For me it was the right choice because I like the always on ePaper Color display, tracking of steps, several day battery life and being able to program my own watchface the way I wanted it. It's not for everyone but it was perfect for me.

Ordered a square Time. I've heard some reports in the past of scratched units for these Groupon refurbs, so fingers crossed i'm not one of them. But it's affordable enough as a toe in the water for seeing if smartwatches are beneficial for me, and inevitably I will scratch the hell out of it within a day.

Not sure if its a slickdeal. Amazon has a new on for 115. Any coupons to make it better?

I was thinking of getting a smartwatch but know nothing about them. Is this a good buy compared to moto and sony?

My pebble classic causes the Bluetooth audio and phone call quality to drop significantly in my 2015 Subaru. Pebble support says put it in airplane mode in the car. Weak

pebble has a better os over android wear IMO. the apps are well optimized on the pebble to take advantage on all those buttons. sure a colored touch screen on the moto 360 or Sony watch is great, but your finger just covers up the whole screen when trying to touch select something on the screen. I previously had an lg watch urbane, premium feeling but android wear is still not there. I moved on to a pebble steel and love it so much better. The e-ink display on the pebble is awesome especially if you're out and about alot. Since the more light shined on the pebbles display the brighter it gets.

If you're looking for a smart watch and don't need a HR monitor, I recommend this watch. My Pebble Time is the third smart watch I've had (others were Samsung Fit and FitBit Flex HR). The Pebble had issues with my clunky POS LG G Vista running android but hadn't issues with my Pebble and a 2014 Camry or 2013 RAV4 because it's your phone that matters not your watch.

The Pebble Time works flawlessly with the iPhone 6 Plus. Apps, including MPF and BCBS's "ONTarget" fitness programs sync running the Misfit app without error. You do have to update the watch somewhat manually and then certify your apps are still connected after updates. Example: last update was last week. I kept getting emails to update my watch, they didn't appear in the App Store updates, I had you select the Pebble Time app (TIME HAS ITS OWN SEPARATE APP FROM PEBBLE, FYI Smilie and upgrade the software from inside the app.

This is a great price, bought mine for $119 new 9 months ago, still running like a champ.
