A mechanical keyboard does have a different ergonomic functionality to a membrane keyboard unless you hunt and peck single keys at a time, in which case there really won't be a difference for you. Typing at speeds over 100 wpm (the threshold is probably a lot lower than this) will likely resort in keystroke errors on a membrane keybaord that an N+ rollover mechanical keyboard will not insert into your work. Also, because the relative force required to depress a key is less, muscle fatigue and repeated motion strain is less an issue (some people might roll their eyes at this, but they might also be people that don't type all day). In the end, these are objective qualities of mechanical keys. For you they might not be worth the extra $$, but for some people they're the tool they want. There's not much point coming into a mechanical keyboard thread and saying that the entire idea of the product is a scam--that's like going into a thread on one of those fancy watches we see on the frontpage every now and then and saying "my casio does the same thing, this is stupid."

Good catch! Upvoted.

The clicks aren't as plastic and high pitch as the Blackwidow [newegg.com] is.

K70 is king . Iv tried all the major keyboard brands and found the k70 Blues to best the best in the 90-130 dollar range . It's just a well build beautiful keyboard. Has all the features you'd need like volume wheel that you can't find on the newer more expensive corsair keyboards.

right? A keyboard is just a keyboard. Just built a high end machine: 16 core 32gb ram sli 980ti and dual sam SSDs all controlled by a generic dell keyboard. Works like a champ.

Wrong. You must be using those 980 tis and that 16 core to check slick deals and face book if you think all keyboards are the same

What's wrong with a $10 keyboard? People are willing to pay big money to be fancy...

It's not about being fancy, its about being loaded with features that your $10 keyboard doesn't have. You have a bunch of dedicated keys for changing audio without needing to open your music player. Tons of macro keys you can bind commands to. Not to mention your rubber switches will never feel as consistent as a blue/brown/red switch keyboard

I was thinking the same thing... I like their Ram so why not their keyboards...

*Edit* I jumped on this. I don't care about RGB and I have only used cherry red so why not give blue a try.
