Editor's Notes & Price Research
The HP ProLiant ML10 v2 Server, a single socket 4U tower server, is value packed with all essential elements. Optimal computing power and affordable server; ideal for remote sites, corporate branch offices running files/print, web messaging and small vertical applications or databases - Discombobulated
As of 2014, once warranty expires, HP requires an active service contract if you want BIOS updates for business systems (e.g. servers, "business" laptops and workstations).
If HP has a bug or security issue in their BIOS - which has happened more than once in recent years on these servers - and you don't have a service contract, you're SOL. Factor that in when you look at the price of an HP server, and make sure it works for you.
Almost all (IBM?) other server manufacturers don't charge for BIOS updates.
