Looks like the Terk HDTVa can get more channel than the other like Mohu Leaf.

Is it safe to say that if the Mohu Leaf and Amazon Basics antennae didn't work for me, this won't either? I really don't want to resort to attic or outdoor options, but that may be all I've got. On the backside of a mountain, it's tough to get signals, even from just 7-8 miles from the broadcast.

Does anyone have any luck with these? I've picked up a couple of those blue ones from the slickdeal's Newegg $7 special, and I only get half the channels here in NW Houston.

I've seen in your specific location where such antennas fail to pull in the remaining VHF HD channels including the PBS, ABC and CBS affiliates. I am also looking for a good UHF VHF HD antenna for a friend located in that part of town.

Good luck!

If you haven't tried an Amplified antenna yet, you should try some.

If you haven't tried it a Slickerdeal is to use a paperclip. I use a paperclip and get 42 channels and most in High Def in metro DC. Granted I'm in a high rise. Some people shouldn't have to spend any money on a antenna to get good reception.

If you haven't tried an Amplified antenna yet, you should try Terk HDTVa, Mohu Leaf amplified version, Winegard FlatWave Amp, etc.

If your on a backside of a mountain its time to tap out. You would need that antenna to be really high to even get a chance of decent signals, unless you point it at another direction. Depending where your at you could have multiple towers sending from different sides.

I purchased this antenna a couple weeks ago. Works really well for me in Sacramento CA. Gets a little over 20 channels with good quality. Don't expect to replace your cable provider, but it's excellent for a bedroom, guestroom, or watching TV in your backyard (I'm super white trash like that)

I would go with the GE 24792 over this toy or the Terk. At $30, you can afford to get an amplifier if you have a long cable run or split out to multiple TVs - http://www.amazon.com/GE-24792-An...B00DNJZ58M

I have used the Terk antenna referenced here. I am ~20 from the transmitter and it works fine. However, it is pretty directional. I had to change directions to pick up another transmitter well. Minor inconvenience for free TV if you ask me. Start by checking your signal here: http://www.antennaweb.org/. This will help you determine the antenna that will work for you.

my case.. the basic mohu leaf actually works pretty decently but I live near an airport and there is distortion whenever a plane passes.. would an amplified antenna solve for that?
