Just a personal opinion, but I was pretty underwhelmed by this. Hard to put in words why. It felt like there was no difference in pacing between the acts.

Loved it, myself.

Read this one right after 'Matterhorn' and right before 'The Martian'... so I formed that opinion flanked by what I consider to be great modern books, to boot.

I loved "Incarnations of Immortality" as a youth... this tickled some of the same neurons.

American Gods is one of Gaiman's best -- if you haven't read anything by him, this is a good book to start (and to see if you like his style). If you do like this, follow up with Good Omens and maybe Stardust.

just finished this last week. not one of my favorites but it's one of those books I guess I'm glad I read it. It was really slow at points but at the same time tough to put down

I enjoyed American Gods and am glad I spent the time to read it but the book didn't blow me away like it did some people. Give it a try. It's only $3.

Amazing book, though it did take me a while to actually finish. Being made into a TV show I believe.

Ocean at the End of the Lane is great as an easy and short summer story.

Though I enjoyed this book, my favorite Gaiman book is Neverwhere overall, followed by the Graveyard Book. Coralline is also really solid, as is Stardust (so much better than the movie "adaptation")

Any Gaiman book is a good read at any price...American Gods and Anasazi Boys were in a combo I picked up (and both well worth the read), but the Graveyard Book is the place to start with NG! Oh and Neverwhere...my second fave...and after you read the Graveyard Book, the Audible version is also off the charts!
