Wow - can't go wrong for the price. Consumer reports have this as the #1 bagless vacuum with a score of 69. The next two closest are the $400 and $600 Dyson at 65 and $270 Shark at 65. Rated excellent for bare floors. I own this and love it for the price.

CR: "Impressive cleaning and superb pet-hair pickup helped put this bagless upright on our winner's list. This model also delivers lots of suction for tools, manual carpet pile-height adjustment (better for matching the brush to the surface), and a retractable cord--all in a low-priced, relatively light machine that weighs just 18 pounds. Two things this value-priced model doesn't include: suction control for drapes and a brush on/off switch to safeguard bare floors' finish and prevent scattered dust and debris. Among upright brands, Hoover has been a solid performer in our tests over the past several years, though a notch below Miele and LG overall.
Highs
• Excels at removing embedded dirt from carpets
• Performs well when cleaning bare floors
• Does well at picking up pet hair, which is nice if you have a cat or dog
• Excels in capturing all the dust it picks up, which is good if you have allergies or respiratory illness
• Strong tool airflow, which is a factor if you will be using the vacuum's accessories for cleaning
• Has a manual carpet pile-height adjustment, which is better than automatic systems at matching the brush to the surface
• Has a retractable cord, which lets you rewind via a slight tug or a push button
Lows
• You must bend to adjust the pile height
• Requires manually emptying the bin, which is messier and sometimes presents problems for those with allergies or other respiratory issues
• Lacks suction control, which helps protects drapes when using tools
• Lacks a brush on/off switch, which safeguards bare floors and prevents scattered dust and debris"

According to camel3x, this is only the 3rd time (1 day deals) this vacuum has been at this low of a price on Amazon.
If on a budget, and you need a vacuum...this is going to rate with the best "brand new" you can hope to get for $65 or less.
After saving the $$ on purchase, go ahead and spring for the extra warranty...just for peace of mind.

Nice drops on the AWD's too!

Reviews seem to suggest not well suited for flat surfaces (Hardwood floors), but very good on carpet. Glad I saw this; otherwise a good deal for anyone with a carpeted home.

Had this for over 2 years. Still going strong, cleans out very easily. Not very good on bare floors, but that's what Swiffer's are for. I don't need another, but if deal is up around lunchtime, I don't want to loose sleep tonight.

Great vacuum. Bought it the last time it was this price around Thanksgiving. My only complaint is emptying the bin is not convenient. A definite buy if you are in market for vacuum.

Perfect timing OP. Our old vac is dying (after ten years, another Hoover). wife said she wants a new vacuum for her birthday, which is Fri. I said "seriously?". I think it's a trap, but at this price she is getting one now. I blame you OP if I end up on the couch...

As powerful as the shark, but heavier. Cleaning hair from the brushes is annoying.
