$199.99 is a very good deal at Fry's, Newegg currently has the same Next Level Wheel Stand at $377.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...-_-Product

Do i need a specific chair to buy with this to hook into so the wheel stays stable?

Interesting unit, but not sure why it's priced so high. Amazon [amazon.com] lists it at 399 but not in stock. And zero reviews, which is odd because the page says it was released May 14, 2015. No one's bought it yet? Hard to believe.

Anyway, for that kind of money I'd be buying the Openwheeler [amazon.com] racing seat, or the Playseat Evolution [amazon.com] (I've had one of these for several years and it's great).

Unless you just need the foldability/storability of this stand, then this seems like a great deal if you were after one.

Holy shit I can't believe this is a thing that people buy

edit: yes, i'm just here to thread crap
It's a hell of a lot cheaper than building a track car. I built one from a salvaged S4 and I'd never do it again nor could I afford it.

Obviously not as fun as the real thing but it helps scratch the itch.

Or if you don't like the metal bar in the middle of your legs which seems to be a big deal for some people

It looks like a stepstool with a hand crank. Terrible.

Good point. I wish it wasn't there, but it's not terribly annoying for me. And because I rarely use the clutch and stickshift of my G27, what I've done is map the clutch pedal to be the brake, and that takes away the awkwardness of trying to "reach around" the center bar to get to the brake pedal. But for more hardcore racers who heel-and-toe I can see that being a big deal for the Playseat type of configuration.

Seems expensive for just a table. If you're going to invest in a racing cockpit setup I highly recommend the Obutto unit instead. It's very reasonably priced and includes a racing seat, keyboard tray and monitor mount.
