Yeah, if they announce a refresh, this price might even go lower. I am hoping they at least announce something on the smart home front that incorporates the OnHub routers.

I would wait for Google I/O to pass and hope for a bigger price drop. Of course, there is a chance that the promotion will have ended by then.

Since the Echo came out, I've been saying that Google should release a wireless router that has Google Now features built into it.

I have the TP-Link router and I have been underwhelmed. It works just as good as my old modern (that died) but I can't tell that it is any better. Netflix still paused to load occasionally and seeing up 2 xBox 360's to have open NAT was a pain. But on the bright side, the phone tech support was awesome and they did walk me through seeing it up for the 360's.

For me, the modem is fine but it costs a lot more than my old modern for no discernible advantage. It could be that my ISP (Charter) is odd or something though.

Saw this at Walmart too. YMMV.

I have this one (Asus) and it works great in my house. I have coverage in places where I didn't. It's also really neat to see how much bandwidth each device is using. I used to love to tinker with home networking stuff but in the end it just upset the wife...she is happy now because things just work.

I don't do any speed tests but all my streaming (internet & local sourced) works fine.

I don't think so, but is this a router with home automation hub built in? Looking at the best buy listing, it doesn't look like it. Been waiting for a good offering that has both combined.

Same. I had to reset it once since March because the Xbox One could not be assigned an IP addy for some reason. Speed test are great and I have wifi why mowing the lawn.

Edit: One thing that pisses me off somewhat is I can't pick the 2.4/5.0 ghz bands and assign them per device. The router assigns them for you. Not a deal breaker but something to mention. It could be easily fixed in a first update though. And still no HD support as the USB port on the back is pretty much useless currently.

I have been eyeing the Almond routers. In terms of routing it seems like their performance is just ok but they do have a router that incorporates zigbee and now works with Alexa which is a big plus.

Yes, I've been looking at those, but waiting for a name like Asus or Belkin to jump into this realm. I'm not familiar with Almond, so not sure I want to buy that one just yet.
Thanks!
