How well do they block light? I already have blinds, but they aren't totally sufficient..

They block out light depending on how tight you keep them to the wall. A little light will always come through around the edges, but it helps tremendously. Great for hangovers

The quality is good, but the size is a little short for window.

In the summer, blocking out the sun can cool the interior down so that you don't (or are less inclined) to run the air conditioning. In the winter, depending on the weight of the fabric and how close it is installed to the wall, can create a curtain wall of air between the curtain and the windows providing a makeshift thermal barrier to block some cold air from flowing freely into the room thereby necessitating heat.

Hope that helps.

For what window? Windows come in all different sizes and so do these curtains, so what the hell does your comment mean?
