The hardware is going to bottleneck at the hard disk for certain, anyone wanting decent performance will need to install an SSD to this machine.

As far as build quality goes, I'd say it's average; ThinkPad X T and P series are the best as far as build quality from Lenovo. worship

I was planning on purchasing an SSD as I recently got a $50 grift card from Samsung from another deal on here 😂 is there a think pad with similar specs for around the same price point? Only ones I have found on a quick search range from 400-600 more

If you're looking for an ultrabook CPU and form-factor/weight, I'd recommend the T440s or T450s.

Reviews across the board state this model is riddled with issues. Best to just wait for the next deal to come along before plunking down $500 on a potential headache.

The specs and price are nice but as others have said, the reviews aren't good for this.

I have a decently equipped Flex 2 and it's awful. The casing feels cheap, it's heavy, the mouse is terrible, and it's just slow in general. Spend your hard earned $500 on something better.

Fully agreed. I don't know how much Lenovo improved on the Flex 3, but the Flex 2 was a total disaster. I got rid of it and am using an X1 Carbon 4th gen now, it's sooo much better in every way. Obviously the high price reflects the difference, but you DO get what you pay for with Lenovo.
