Ugh, right when I was going to bite the bullet on Lightroom. I just process pictures, straighten, crop, etc. Nothing crazy. Will this fit the bill? It's half what I was going to pay for LR....

I have read that it can be installed on 2 computers, but I didn't verify the information.

Lightroom is generally part of the Creative Cloud subscription, and it is $10 a month. But it is a lot more powerful.

Photoshop Elements is a one time fee, and you own the software. However it is designed to be more consumer friendly. Easier, but less capabilities.

Premier Elements is a video editing software. I don't know what's the alternative software package with the Lightroom subscription.

Dont know anything about lightroom, but if you know full blown Photoshop, its the best photo/image editor out there. This would be their shrunked down version geared at newbs and more intuitive. A little annoying for Photoshop users, but its great for casual users.

Ligthroom is better for processing a lot of images, Photoshop is better for individual photos. Think ligthroom as a filter and Photoshop as an editor.

not necessarily. that doesn't include Premiere, if that's a product you want.

I stand corrected. Didn't know they had 2-in-1 here. That would make it $40 a piece (if I included in tax). Not shabby, but not great.

I tried the 30-day trial for Lightroom and ended up purchasing Elements 14.

For my work going DPP to process the RAW and selectively using Elements for more challenging edits works. I don't even use Elements' Organizer. If comparing remember it's a pixel-based editor vs Lightroom which is not.

Unless your work involves heavy editing in 16-bit space, or Channels, Elements does what CC would do and at a fraction of the cost. Plus u own your copy vs Lightroom & CC which is only subscription based.
