Lowest price for the ASUS Z97-E/USB3.1 since 11/28/15. I have an I7-4790K (Devil's Canyon) sitting here NIB and have been eyeing this board for several weeks. Anyone have any real life experience with this board?

I'm in the same situation with an i5-4690k sitting in my closet waiting to get built along with a giga z97-hd3p mobo. Hell yeah i'm on with this, intel networking, better sound & components, save the giga for insurance, thanks op!

It's hard to find deals on last generation components, gotta snag'em while you can.

I hear THAT. All of the pieces/parts I have on hand will work on this AND no Linux issues I can find. Pulled the trigger - Thanks!

EDIT: I too have a spare giga -GA-Z97N-WIFI [gigabyte.com] that I just received via the RMA process, but it only supports 16GB RAM. Unsure if I want to keep as a backup or put a lower end (cheap) processor into it and flip or re-purpose it. Would make one helluva router/file server/etc. Hmm...

i don't have experience with this exact board, but I own the Z97-A,USB 3.1 and the it seems almost the exact same thing except mine has displayport. I enjoy my board very much and I have it paired with a i7-4790K and it is very stable. Not the greatest amount of features but it has the features that matter such as Intel Gigabit instead of that Realtek garbage.

I had that one in my New Egg "wish list" too. Although my main (center) monitor has a display port, I can live without it. I truly appreciate your feedback as I really don't trust NE reviews. Too many noobs with other issues for the most part when it comes to the negative comments. I'll breadboard it to verify all is well before putting it in service. Now I'm off to find a cheap(er) processor for the Gigabyte board....

Maybe one of these [newegg.com] fits your price range? Unsure about quality, but a thought...
