I think I found a decent deal on a Surface Pro 3, is it actually good?

I've been looking at tablets to go back to college with, and was at a local pawn shop and found a 128gb SP3 with a price tag of $370. They didn't act like they wanted to negotiate, but I wasn't really serious about it either. It does not come with the keyboard, but it does include the stylus. I don't know what processor it has, the battery was dead and I didn't have time to mess with it. Compared to craigslist, this looks like a good deal, but didn't know if SDer's have seen a refurbs at comparable price or if this is as good of a deal as it seems. If they won't negotiate on the price, they offer a six month "warranty", where they basically give what you paid back to you in store credit, I was going to get them to include that. What do y'all think?

I think you need to know the full specs first, from there you can do an online search, search on SD, Ebay, etc and find out if its a decent deal. I feel like it's ok but not great.

Store credit sounds like a horrible "warranty" ... so if the item breaks you basically get to buy a used guitar and another broken piece of tech?

Without being able to turn it on and check all the specs, make sure it can connect to wifi, etc. there's 0% chance you should even consider buying it. I don't care if it's $50 - if it doesn't work it doesn't work.

After ordering a deal immediately delete your deal alert. You got your item; you don't want it shipped with a side of remorse.

I wouldn't touch it unless I can see it turn on and can see the specs.

To be fair the i3, i5 and i7 models on the SP3 are pretty much the same due to the terrible heat throttling that happens on the high end ones. Mostly I would want to see the memory and SDD size as well as confirm that it works.

I would still prefer a SP2 or a Dell Venue Pro 11 7140 over the SP3.

It the thing works and looks good I would rate the deal as decent.
