This is a really good economical bar. If you're looking to upgrade from your 300lb sports authority set bar, or your rusty craigslist special, this bar can't be beat for the price. However, there is no center knurling (rough patch in the center of the bar) which will make squatting a bit more bothersome if you're narrrower at the shoulders (i.e. smaller men, women). Good bar at a great price. I wouldn't hesitate buying one if you're in the market.

While true, you can say the same thing about pretty much any health nut. Vegetarians, juiceheads, marathon runners, etc.

"Bro/Brah, do you even lift?"

Doesn't matter how you get in shape, just do it and don't throw it in peoples' faces.

That said, good deal, TU.

This is THE BAR for crossfit. You can buy a dozen of these for less than $1500, and let all the mommy's destroy them from drops. Its these or Roguefitness bars that cost 2.5-3X as much. Since 99% of CF is not in the 2 plate club, these will do.

This is an awesome deal. I just bought this bar 3 weeks ago for a home gym I've been putting together. This is about $30 lower the price I bought it. I figured I would try this first before attempting to buy a more expensive bar (Rogue, Eleiko, etc). So far it seems well made, but I only have a handful of workouts on it.

One unfortunate bad part about this bar is the shipping. It ships in a cardboard tube with plastic end caps, and the caps easily pop right off during shipping. They do tape them but with cheap clear shipping tape that will break under the load of the bar as it shifts during shipping. My bar had slight damage on the corners of both sleeves. It didn't effect the use of the bar, but a little more caution in packing would have prevented the issue. I was able to work with Amazon for a credit against the purchase. I assume it was easier to do this rather than exchange because of the shipping costs and having to relist the item under their warehouse deals.

Bare in mind this is an Olympic bar intended for Olympic lifts (clean, snatch, etc). If you're looking for a bar specifically for heavy squats, look for a power lifting bar that has the center knurl. One way to get around it is to tape the middle with athletic tape, but it obviously still doesn't hold as well as knurl.

Even if you are in the 2 plate club, these hold up very well. I have had one for 2 years and I C&J and snatch at 225+ with no issues. But for the 98% of CF'ers who are just there to move, this is a great deal.
