Continuing with the bike threads but this time a women's bike!

Walmart has a Schwinn women's bike for $99. This was lower than the previous clearance deal by Toys R Us.

Don't buy non luxury cars. A luxury car will put a non luxury car to shame. In fact skip cars all together and just get yourself a jet. Cars are garbage.

This bike is good for occasional rides around the town on paved roads. But the lifetime warranty is just a gimmick. From the warranty terms & conditions -
Frame -
"Frame must be returned for inspection at customer's expense. Please note: the fork is not part of the frame. A lifetime warranty on your frame does not guarantee that the product will last forever."

Parts -
"This warranty does not cover ordinary wear and tear or anything you break accidentally or
deliberately. "

Shipping the frame back to the manufacturer will likely cost $40-50 which is half the price of the bike.

Wait! Where are the bike experts? Yesterday there was a men bike deal and it was half of this price and the bike gurus were all over it. The thread was like 50 pages long full of bike dudes saying the bike was garbage and would break when you ride it... blablabla.... This women bike is $100 and nobody says a thing? Who says gender equality still exists? EEK!

This is garbage . My $3000 one puts this to shame. Don't buy it. It is not worth. Go for the. $1000 one at that store and you will be happy. And no I'm not trying to show off that I have an expensive bike, IMHO

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this bike. Schwinn has lifetime warranties on everything except the seat/cables/tires/tubes/brakes. This means that the gears and frame are covered for lifetime. Every other bike brand I've looked at didn't give a warranty for the gears past 1 year.

I looked at the shipping weight and it comes in at just over 50 lbs including packaging from Amazon. Can I expect the bike to weigh approx 40 lbs?

$100 for a fully lifetime-warrantied 21-speed steel framed bike seems like a steal, but I'd like to hear the opinion of someone who knows more about bikes than me.

per Toyrs R Us, this bike has a product weight of 43 lbs. To me this is pretty heavy for a bike, but if you don't plan on doing long rides with this, then it should be fine. It might become a pain also if you're trying to load this into the back of a car.

Will it work on 5' 3"person or will the saddle be too high?

One guys review of the mens version,

The bike itself is good, considering its low price, but the factory assembly is terrible (common at this price point). All the bearings are over-tightened and under-greased, so they would self-destruct quickly if not properly adjusted. I completely rebuilt my bike, and now it rides nicely and should last for a reasonable time. The front fork is very cheap and its suspension is sticky, and it cannot be adjusted or rebuilt, so consider it to be a regular non-suspension fork if you don't want to be disappointed. I recommend that buyers factor in the cost of a thorough tune-up at a local bike shop.

The frame geometry makes it difficult to install some luggage racks. It's probably best to buy a rack at the shop so they can make sure it fits at the same time they are tuning the bike. I bought my rack by mail, and then had to order extra-long front brackets to reach the frame attachment points.
