That looks like a better deal, but I found this review: "The power button doesn't stick anymore. This is a common problem with this router if you search. I literally have to stick a toothpick in it for the button to stay in. At least it broke in 1 year and 11 months so I can RMA it, but I expected a high end router to not break this soon."

It may still be worth it, but then again, for $50, I might be better off waiting for clearance deals on better routers that seem to pop up here and there.

The problems I had with Asus routers were their cheap capacitors failing. I lost two Asus routers in two years due to bad caps. No more.

Hello,

Which ASUS should I get, RT-AC55U or RT-N66W? From first glance, AC55U seems to be a choice, but there gotta be something else. Thanks for your expert opinion.

Seems the RC-AC55U has no 3rd party firmware while the RT-N66W does.
