Been waiting and watching trying to find the best deal on a big external. I think this might beat the Walmart $40 3tb deal posted a few days ago.

The details:
DPCI - 056-02-0117
Search on http://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker

Product shows not available at Target.com, however if you use the Target app in search your local store, it should show up there as it did for me (must search with description ie 'Seagate 4tb'. Searching by DPCI does not work in Target app)

http://www.target.com/p/seagate-4...A-17333817

Drive has 4.5 stars on amazon [amazon.com]

Edit- added screencap below. again YMMV!

I saw these but they were 30% off a few days ago. My closest store says sold out though. Maybe someone picked it up already.

This has to be one of the better deals in recent memory. There will be tax of course, but even still for me $60 after tax for a 4TB external is pretty damn good! There's even a few in my area, so hopefully I can scoop one tonight or tomorrow morning before word gets out.

yeah - none in my area....two 80 miles away - but since being posted on SD, the two being in stock in a college town - nah, not even going to bother.

awesome deal, tho. I have several that I picked up for 90-100 bucks.

Excellent price, but it's a Seagate and that scares me. Can someone please comment on how reliable these are?

Unfortunately, Brickseeker shows 54.98 but local stores all ring up at $93.48. Brickseeker isn't too reliable. Frown

Thinking of buying a few for my NAS but I was wondering if it's difficult to remove the drives from the enclosures. I know it's not rocket science to extract them but I was surprised with a few external drives before how arduous and fiddly it was to remove them.

Also I've had pretty bad luck with Seagate drives. 5 drives have failed/died on me in about 5 years and all of them have been Seagate.

Still a great deal though and I feel foolish to even hesitate or debate about the purchase. I'll try to get one regardless of my concerns; thanks OP.

It's in store only; not online. You need to check the inventory of your local Target via the Brickseek link and then drive down and hope for the best.

Brickseek can be inaccurate as well due to returns or items being damaged while on display ECT so it's really a crapshoot if the item is in stock or not IMO…
