For tax on $550, you can cover shipping and ffl fees, at least around here.

Yup.

It's pretty unpleasant to shoot too.

if you're looking for a tiny thin pocket-able nine I suggest the Beretta Nano... it's virtually the same size, but a little heavier, a LOT more pleasant to shoot, and well over $100 cheaper.

Plus it just works out of the box, none of the "you have to break it in for a few hundred rounds before it works right" nonsense the Kahrs are known for.

I'd rather have a glock 43 for $100 less or a lc9s for $250 less

I liked this gun until it blew up in my hand....they are rated for +P ammunition, but apparently mine wasn't. Kahr repaired it without issue. Traded mine in for a Sig P938 and could not be happier.

How does this compare with a fns-9. I was just asking the gun person i know today actually about a good first gun, he suggested the fns-9

Every review I've read of the C/PM9 has viewed them favourably, especially where the trigger is concerned. That's something that can't be said about the Nano.

I knew a guy who carried this Kahr PM9 for a while. He was telling me how bad it is to shoot and how much he paid used and he always was telling me he'd trade it in.

He doesn't work with me anymore but most people I know like the guns they carry. I'd avoid Kahr.

I'd try to get price matches from somewhere local on something like this but check this sweet personal defense machine out for that price point. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catal...9S+PRO+9MM

This is a great gun, I've shot over 2500 rounds through a pm9 and over 2000 rounds through a cm9. This is a good price on one of the smoothest triggers in the business. I'm a glock armourer and have shot nearly every current pistol. This is not a junk gun, it's miles above any Beretta, Smith and Wesson, Springfield, Colt, Ruger, or any other sub 1k gun.

It has a long smooth consistent trigger pull with a long reset. It's a great shooting consistent gun. I've shot 147 +p ammo and 115 +p ammo without a single issue.

With that said I carry a Glock 43 with night sights and all stock internals.

Duty weapon is a G17.

Department toy is soon to be a G18.

Decent price for the Kahr. I have the cm9 and pm380 both have super good triggers and have never had a misfire from either one. They are great concealed carry light and thin. I have noticed both have some kick but expect that with them being so light and shooting +P ammo in them. Would I shoot them at the range all day... no, just enough to be proficient. I have others guns to play with on the range.
