*UPDATE Use coupon DAD20 for 20% off instead of 15%*

I got my order canceled on that other L'eau D'issey 4.2 oz sale from unreliable perfumania.com, like many of us did. So I spent Saturday night finding the next best deal, and I think I found it!

I actually activated/used my AMEX (Platinum) offer for $10 off $50 on perfume.com to buy L'eau D'issey 4.2 oz for $33.54, and after some research, identified John Varvatos Artisan as another extremely highly rated cologne (loved by ladies), and bought the 4.2 oz for $29.64.
Then applied coupon code PER15 for 15% off the total, dropping my total for both down to a super Slick $43.70!! woot

John Varvatos Artisan by John Varvatos 4.2 oz Eau De Toieltte Spray (Tester) for Men
$29.64 - 15% - out of stock

L'eau D'issey (issey Miyake) by Issey Miyake 4.2 oz Eau De Toilette Spray (Tester) for Men $33.54 - 15%

did you receive it yet? I've heard in the past that their testers aren't always legit or can be watered down. artisan is such a good scent

I don't have Amex so it waters down the deal

Not really. it's only $2 more than the front page deal that a lot of people got cancelled. that deal cost me personally only $1.50 less than the amount charged here without the Amex discount, because Perfumania charged tax. Did you not take off the additional 15% like the instructions say?

I just placed the order immediately prior to posting the deal and haven't received yet, but if the scent is watered down or doesn't last, that is an easy fix as well with Amex purchase/return protection .

Decent deal on the Parfums. Better with the AMEX offer.

The tester bottles aren't labeled for resale and have no retail box. Just FYI.

Same exact scent in the bottles just pay attention to Eau de Parfum, toilette, etc as it indicates scent potency, and you're good to go.

Shipping kills the deal for me

Really wanted to pull the trigger but the lack of customer reviews on the site is concerning. The reviews left for the site (just by googling perfume.com reviews) are concerning as well, detailing shipping problems, open box problems, and scents only lasting 30min. I am hesitant to buy the "sealed" products, much less the "testers." Does anyone have an experience to share?

I will soon enough. But as I mentioned in another thread, I am not worried because if the scents are diluted or otherwise unsatisfactory, all you have to do is file a dispute with your credit card company. AMEX is one of the better credit card companies as far as having the customer's back when they don't get what they paid for, and they can do a chargeback from the merchant and credit your account. That is why I'm not afraid to take a gamble on a great deal even with bad reviews about a merchant, and 90% of the time it works out well. 10% of the time, I file a dispute, and get my money back anyway. Win-win.

Oh, my bad. In that case may as well get both to get free shipping. Yeah, buying one and paying shipping wouldn't be worth it to me either. Alternatively, you could add something for a couple bucks like a lotion to put you over $35. I believe they calculate the shipping on the pre-discount amount, so it should be only a couple bucks. Worth a try.

Thank you for your input! I am still going to hold off. I do not know if I would be able to tell if it is watered down or fraudulent. Also I looked on fragrancex.com to compare price and the two sites seem to share the same inventory (looked on a few items and the "hurry only xxx in stock are the same and change accordingly) and have nearly identical site layouts. The reviews for fragrancex are absolutely horrendous (1/10 based on 221 reviews). I'm not trying to bomb the thread, just my two cents... Could be a good deal for those willing to deal with a dispute.

Just some additional information to consider... Filing a dispute with Chase is a PITA because you have to wait a certain amount of time before they will even let you file online, and you have to call if you want to initiate it before that time, and they may request documentation. AMEX makes it extremely painless, and it can be done in your account online in under 60 seconds. I am interested in getting Discover IT and the CITI 2% cash back card, but I cannot offer input on their level of customer service with disputes. So I guess the "willing to deal with a dispute" question comes down to which credit cards you have, and how quick/painless the process is. But generally speaking, some sort of credit card should be used for EVERY purchase, especially online purchases, for your own protection as a consumer (the points or cash back are a nice bonus) so long as you have the discipline to pay off the balance in full every month and avoid paying interest.

They just emailed me a coupon code for 20% off vs the 15% from my original deal - DAD20

Did you contact them to get the price adjusted with the 20% code? I wonder if it's too late to cancel the previous order then.
