Not bad at all--paying used pricing for new.

Some conflicting information concerning the warranty though:

We're not an authorized dealer; this gives us the freedom to set our own prices and discount as much as possible. Our watches are fully warrantied and other merchandise is guaranteed against defects.
So that means no manufacturer warranty, yet it's fully warrantied... in-house warranty? Comes with an AD-stamped warrranty card? Hard to say. If the warranty makes or breaks the deal for you, I'd ask them to elaborate on that point.

my experience with this type of seller is in-house warranty meaning they will fix it and not the manufacturer, which will void "warranty" that never came with the watch......

Did you ever take it to a dealer to get it authenticated? Because for $350 it's either a fake, or the pawnshop owner was grossly incompetent (meaning the original seller was even more stupid--pawn shops don't sell for a loss).

A speedy reduced for $350 would be one thing if it were in bad condition, not working, etc. A speedy PRO is bare minimum $1500+ in running condition. Even without the movement, the parts alone would be worth more than $350. I've seen quite a few fakes and frankenwatches on ebay, so plenty more are ending up in pawn shops I'm sure. Either way it's good if you love it, but there are places to get a brand new Omega replica for less than that.

Yeah but the speedy pro is one of the few watches that doesn't have a very good replica because of subdial spacing. Not to say there aren't fakes - they just aren't good fakes.

That being said, getting one for $350 is basically stealing it. I just managed to snag a 1977 one in excellent shape for $2k, and that's about $1500 under market value for it.

it was a cash america pawn(publically traded on nyse). the enployee didn't know. they were asking 500, we settled in 350. my wife's jeweler verified it, and said the movement was great. it's an early example, so the tritium is shot. that deal got me really interested in watches. my other grand slam is a le coultre gravity clock i found in a thrift...but i dont wanna threadjack.

i bought mine on the spot because they have a money back guarantee. but afterwards, i researched the fakes. didn't really find much. got to nyc a few months ago, and they had all kinds of fake omegas in chinatown. the corner salesman was admiring my bud's iwc...we told him not to get kidnapped.

There are a few grey dealers known to provide AD-stamped warranty cards, meaning the manufacturer warranty is honored by Omega. What you're saying is likely the case, but I find it odd that they make no mention of their in-house warranty terms. If it's an in-house warranty, I'd NEVER make use of it--I've never even heard of them before. What's to stop them from just pocketing the watch after you send it in for repair?

i noticed used ones float around 2-3k on ebay... it's the luck of the draw though on seller and specimen.

True, never seen a fake speedpro with an accurate dial. I've seen a few frankenwatches with original case, dial, hands, and fake everything else (fake movement, nonworking subdials). That you could realistically get for $350.

We've gotten way off topic, but it sounds like you got the deal of a lifetime. Jeweler said it was an authentic 861 movement? You should be in jail for robbery LMAO It might be worth more than 10x what you paid for it if it's in good shape. There are some good forums you can post pictures where users will give you a better idea of authenticity and value.

That employee is a complete ignoramus, and deserves to be fired. A 30-second search on ebay could provide a ballpark number. I'd be interested to know how the pawn shop acquired that piece. Clearly you need to go back to that location frequently to take advantage of their foolishness.

1.this guy is in nyc...land of chinesium.
2.he sells fake disney and michael kores-check the listings.
3. the best negative feedback he has is in spanish "mas falso que judas." ie.the watch was faker than judas.

i suggest a pass on this vendor.
