I bought this oven the last time it was this price a few months back. Fantastic deal. Some reviewers say the oven door gets super hot, and while it gets fairly warm, I wouldnt say it reaches a dangerous level. I dont have kids though, so its not something I "need" to be concerned about. It's a great value for the money, and looks great. The 5 burners are great.

Hmm...would this save me money vs. my ~1992 electric stove? I just got natural gas service last year, but the new boiler hasn't paid for itself yet.

EDIT: Not really. Guess I'll have to wait for it to die before I have a gas stove again. Frown I found this site, in case anybody else is interested. http://michaelbluejay.com/electricity/gas.html

Buyer beware, we bought this model and it had two very serious problems (for us):

1) The timer alarm is EXTREMELY quiet and as best I remember, doesn't repeat if you forget. We--had we decided to keep it--planned on getting an egg timer for a backup. It was very very quiet.

2) That broil and serve drawer (what I thought was actually storage) was the broiler. I found that having food that close to the floor with animals / dust / pet hair / etc. was unappealing and I kind of burnt my arm the one time I used it. If you broil a lot, you will likely find that bending over at feet level to get things in/out of the broiler is very inconvenient.

We returned it for a model without the broil and serve drawer.

Hot enough to hurt the kids. Don't get this model. For adults, it is fine.

My problem is that I cannot find a way to tell when the oven reaches the pre-set temperature. There is a tiny "ding" but if you miss it, there is no other way to tell. Has anyone figured this out yet?

We keep a thermometer inside the oven. If we miss the beep, then we look at the thermometer.

What is with these broil and serve drawers?!? Also, the BTUs on some of these burners seem low. I've been watching some of the other Memorial Day sales, and for not much more money you can get a better range which has a normal broiler.
