I bought some shoes from Macys a few weeks ago and added lip balm to get free shipping. They sent me an email two days later saying one of my items had shipped (the lip balm) then sent me another email two days after that saying shoes were out of stock and they canceled my order.

Not worth my $3 to bother returning the lip balm but I was annoyed as hell with how Macys handled it.

i think this was a similar deal from a few weeks ago. A lot of people said the wooden utensils were crappy and the pots were hard to clean. but lets be honest, for the price you aren't going to find a cheaper set of set pots and pans...

Similar thing happened to me, they ended up giving me a 25% off coupon but those are available all the time at Macy's so it's not really a consolidation price.

I bought one a few weeks back.

wooden (bamboo) utensils - forget about the quality, they are all the same, don't expect anything different here.

the pots are with good quality, heating up fast and very easy to clean unless you burn it, of course.

I think this set could last for couple years at least, how much you can ask for with this price range?

I like this set.

  • Aluminum encapsulated impact-bonded for quick and even heating
  • Non-reactive stainless steel interior will not affect the taste of the food

Because "12-Pc. Aluminum Encapsulated in Non-Reactive Stainless Steel Cookware Set" doesn't have the same ring to it.

Aluminum? Pass.

don't have a set of cookware and have been using some of the mom-hand-me-downs.

Cheap set, hopefully will last a couple years and boom done.

Hilarious isn't it that this set is posted twice today, both active threads, and neither OP included the coupon code...just the end price.
At least in the first thread posted, the code intended to be used to get to $42.49 is on the product page.

Both the stainless and the hard-anodized are very light weight. I have not purchased, but looked them over more than once in-store. Reviews seem OK, but who knows what cookware they have prior experience with.
Even yourself...when you say "spoiled with Calphalon and Cuisinart", it's hard to gauge.
Is that Calphalon Tri-Ply and Cuisinart French Classic, or Calphalon Simply (or like store exclusives) and Cuisinart Classic? Totally different ends of the quality range.

I just hate seeing the really great deals passed over on good quality pieces in favor of either All-Clad at one extreme to this very low end set (along with others) at the other.

For just a few bucks more, you can get some really nice cookware that will last a lifetime + and give you better performance, and likely better food to enjoy Smilie
