‘Rich Dad’ author says the 2016 market collapse he foresaw in 2002 is coming

Published: Mar 28, 2016

In 2002, Kiyosaki wrote that the stock market would crash in 2016 as the first wave of baby boomers began to hit 70 1/2 in 2016 and started taking required-by-law distributions from traditional individual retirement accounts.

"This whole.. I have XX company so my pee pee is 2" longer talk is hilarious. Who cares what company is cheapest, best, etc. Pick the company and plan you want and keep it to yourself."

the guy is predicting it based on china collapsing. i predicted the last recession (to the quarter) in my final econ paper in college. everyone throws out their guess and a few get it right. at the end of the day no one knows.

(in my paper i based my guess on an inverted yield curve, a fairly accurate predictor but not 100%)

Bingo.

There's enough people out there predicting market crashes that a few are likely to be right over a fairly long period that makes them look smart. Some dude whose claim to fame might be predicting the last three market crashes doesn't necessarily have any good insight into the next one.

Anyone with confidence (rightly or wrongly) in their own ability to predict the market isn't sharing that information with the world. Anyone who is is trying to sell you something, even if it's just entertainment value they're selling.

Besides, Kiyosaki's whole game is basically "you can make money speculating on real estate, and if you pay me money, I'll show you how." He just makes it sound like it's a secret that only rich people teach their kids.

Stupid. No one knows. I know it will go up and it will go down and there will be another crisis.

Knowing that isn't the hard part. It's WHEN and HOW MUCH that matter.

NO ONE knows and it is IMPOSSIBLE to predict.

oil up, but not enough
we're happy, companies happy
banks & markets not happy

lets shuffle money around to make more somewhere else
oops, caused a market correction.

while you blinked we raised prices again
Oh no we caused inflation to spike, we better slow things down and raise rates again.
we better sell and hold our cash. Crap this correction is bigger than the last one.

One thing for sure...Nothing will happen until after the Election. As it gets closer we'll see if we need to start pulling out of foreign markets...thanks trump, stir the pot, just give me a sign when to jump back in.
