Isn't this only a $20 savings from the non-gray market version?

Yes, for the 9.7" wifi iPad Pro. It was fp deal all last week so you might want to wait for it to come around again.

Yep, save $19 by buying from eBay instead of directly from Apple.

I guess it's more the tax that people are trying to save, otherwise......?????

Gotta TD this one...FAIL of a price, both compared to retail and for value for what you get. These things are SERIOUSLY overpriced for today's tablet market.

So are Ferrari's, Lake Side properties, French Bordeaux's, Rolex watches, etc.

Apple has always made the very best products and you have to pay up for that. If you are not in that market, just head on over to Walmart and get a nice Chinese android phone.

It just depends on what you want and are willing to pay. I, myself are notoriously cheap, but I have to admit that Apple makes great products. I just got a used MacBook and even though I build my own windows machines I have to admit that the whole software/hardware/ecosystem that Apple has built is so much more smooth and enjoyable than the alternatives.

Apple captures 95% of all the profits in the entire smartphone industry - who are we to tell them that's not a great way to run a business.

It was just released March 31st.

It is essentially a slightly upgraded iPad Air 2. Identical screen, just 2 extra speakers, better camera, and updated processor.

Wow... fanboi much?

Also as you pointed out. Apple captures about 94% of the profit, yet only 14% of the sales market. Samsung has about 25% of the sales market, yet only 11% of the profits. If you take your sheeple blinders off for a second, you'd see that the obvious reason is not that they build the best devices, but that they have the biggest profit margins. All Apple products are technologically a generation or two behind their windows/android counterparts. They dont have to spend nearly as much in parts or R&D, as they always lag their competitors.

You tried and failed to argue the previous commenter that Apple devices are overpriced, yet yourself proved their massively inflated profit margins, compared to all their competitors. Massive profit margin = overpriced.

No kidding! Comparing to a Ferrari is laughable! I agree they are the best tablet on the market, but not by enough to justify such a premium price/profit. It's not like the sweatshop employees are seeing much if any benefit from these premium prices.

But you totally miss the point - you can't have massive profit margins unless people are willing to buy your products at those prices. If it were that simple why doe snot Samsung simply raise all their prices and make a ton more money? Because...... they can't.

All this simply boils down to envy - people are pissed because they can't get all the Apple products that they would love to have at the price they would love to pay - so they bash Apple.

I had a friend with a nice BMW but now he won't buy another because twice it got keyed in a parking lot - Why? because people are jealous and then they get mean. So hate Apple all you want and don't buy their products, but you want to try to understand what they are really doing - it's brilliant.
