Nice Deal - repped. I know, not as good as Gen 2, but for this price they will make a great gift to family and friends.

I have an Echo or Echo Dot in the Bedroom, Living/Dining/Kitchen and Basement Theater - using Alexa is awesome. I also use a Hue Tap for multiple light setups on each of the 4 buttons. For example: Button 2, first press, turns dining room on to Orange - 20% brightness; second press, Dining room, white, 50%; 3rd press, Dining room, white 100%. I have some buttons programmed with 4 different presses. Though the Echo is great for turning on and off with different percentage brightness, it does not let me change the color. Of course these bulb's don't do color, so Alexa can do it all for them ("Alexa, dining room 70 percent"). The Hue tap saves me from opening an iOS device and using an app to various change light color scenes.

The latest Hue App for iOS is okay, but iConnectHue is a far superior app. Well worth the few dollars to purchase. If any of this information is useful to you I would really appreciate the rep nod

This is a great price on these. Tempted to pick it up, I'm just not sure where I would use them! Actually, just thought of where..Mine!

Great price if you need the hub or want a spare. I already have two of the hubs, so I picked up the 2nd gen bulbs 2 for $30. Only a $6 price difference, but they have a slightly higher lumens (800 vs 750)

This is only a great price if you need the hub, and it's a first-gen hub at that and will not work with HomeKit. The bulbs themselves have been on sale at Best Buy for $11 recently and with Philips announcing the new Hue ambience whites today, I'm guessing these will drop even lower as retailers clear them out.

Agreed. If you don't need the hub, the basic $15 extension bulbs are better deal. They are essentially the same. I'd love to get some at $11 tho. Link?

The BB price was in-store only, but at all stores. You can look them up for availability on the site. I picked up four of them last Sunday

good info. what's the lowest the color ones have been on sale for? would love to pick up a few more, but ideally at sub $30/each, which already seems pricey.

went to bestbuy Saturday, they accidently put the ambience whites on shelf, but checkout can not go through because those bulbs are not suppose to start sale on June 24th (or May I am not sure), it will be $24 each.

It's not entirely clear from the email they sent customers this morning, but it sounds like they're bringing the same number of variations in shade that the color bulbs have. Here's the text:

Introducing Philips Hue White Ambiance

Philips Hue is excited to announce a new addition to our ecosystem! Philips Hue White Ambiance enhances your everyday life. It can wake you up and help you energize, read, concentrate and relax. These don't appear to be the same bulbs to me. The Lux seem to have adjustable color temperature. I could be mistaken but this is what I see on the product pages.

Hue Lux:
Light appearance: 2200K - 6500K

Phillips Hue White:
The 2700K temperature offers vibrant illumination.

Best deal I've seen for the colors has been the starter kit w/1st gen hub at $100 for the three bulbs and you basically just discard the hub. Have yet to see the individual color bulbs on sale
