apparently pretty good for the cost. they are discontinued and there have been some issues with the amps not lasting very long.

This has been a highly reviewed sub. What issues ? They made thousands of these so if people don't know how to use a sub and wire/calibrate it they will blow it up. Discontinued yes but supply is there for sure. Jamo J12 is a clone of this or this is a clone of Jamo whichever way you look at it. Jamo J112 is a better deal if you can find one like Woot deal few months ago.

This is downfiring sub which under normal circumstances would be better for movies. If you want more oomph with music, then get front firing sub. Placement is key but this sub rocks and I have used it as LFE output with only 50% power else it rocks the whole house.

Pretty good deal if you are in the market. Expect this sub to go down to < $150.

I bought this subwoofer last time this deal was around a month ago. Excellent quality for the price, though I can't speak to the long term reliability.

i agree with you completely. in the other thread that hack400 posted and in some reviews online, the bash amps are not the best quality. sometimes they go bad prematurely.

if it means anything, I got in on this deal this time around, so obviously I'm not too worried. i was looking for the newer Klipsch subs, buy they don't go on sale very often, and much less with free shipping (or any shipping through Fry's). have heard really good things about this sub and it's the only remaining item to finish my living room 5.1. was almost ready to pull the trigger on an svs, but for the price, this is hard to pass up. i can always sell it for a tiny loss and upgrade later if I'm not happy with it. much harder to justify a $500 sub for the little bit of movies and TV I watch.

This X 1000. Awesome for movies. I definitely prefer a front firing sub for music.

Yes I am debating on getting just second 12" sub for music and using Y RCA cable splitter via LFE sub output. This thing is huge and takes up some real estate in small room. For music even BIC America sub ain't bad but Klipsch and Jamo are definitely better with deals. I am dreaming of a day where I can get SVS or HSU sub for < $250 but that would be holiday season time maybe.

Klipsch's naming baffles me that "12" is synonymous with their 12" range it's hard to know what is what. I hate when companies do that.

I've owned two Klipsch subs and both times the subs died from failed amps. First one lasted less than a year and I had it replaced under warranty. The second one probably around 3 or 4 years of very light usage. From what I've read, inadequate heat dissipation is the most common reason these fail prematurely.

I'd personally pass on this deal. I don't trust the low end Klipsch subs enough.

Apparently humidity also messes with control boards. (It may be a statistical correlation of the high heat allowing more relative humidity). So keep it cool and dry. If you are using in a moist basement like most man caves then I could see this being a real issue for people and causing amps to go out within a year. From the little research I've done, Bash is supposed to be good quality amps that most AVSforums guys use on their custom builds so I would hesitate to blame Bash QC.
