We use these at my job. The suction power is normal, not powerful in my opinion. When you empty this after wet use it is difficult to get all the liquid out because it has a lip on it. It's kind of like trying to pour the water out of a tire but not nearly as bad because the lip is small.

Why do I care so much about an ounce of liquid? Because if you don't completely dry out a wet vacuum between uses it will fill the area with mildew odor the next time it is used.

Other than this one little knit pick this is a great unit. I'm not sure how I feel about the price as I didn't pay for the ones I use so I have no perspective.
The $79 one is only cordless. The one for $99 has power cord or you can run it on a 20v battery

Is the difference between this and the normally $79 one the "HEPA" addition?

Performance still looks really good, and for those who own Dewalt batteries this is what we need. This is replacing a gigantic shop vac I have in my storage room where the hose lays all over the floor and drywall dust leaks out when using it. I will be happy to get rid of that pos.

How long does this last? It must eat through batteries...

It last 10-15 for me on 2ah. 25 on 5ah. Pretty good suction. I think it's worth the trade off of suction power for the portability.

How come all Dewalt cordless aren't 18V or 20V? I didn't even know that was possible.

The older ni-cad 18v batteries that push in will work and the newer 20 volt max li-ion slide on will work.
Also the 20 volt max are really 18 volt under load, it's just marketing
