For those that don't have a Costco membership, Sams has the same set for the same price:

Hmmmm . . . I was eyeing this TV. I'm in the market for a 55" TV or bigger and was hoping to keep it under $500. I kind of want 4K even though I know it's not useful to me yet. Still on the fence for that LG deal at Walmart too

I was kind of in your boat so I bought this just to test out 4K and contrary to what some people post you will notice a nice difference over 1080p on a 55" screen. Especially with games and Blu-Ray movies. Calibrating this thing is the important part, now to go see if Costco will give me my $50 back! I decided to keep this set and wait for the 4K thing to hit full stride before dropping real money.

TVs will always drop in price with time especially around Black Friday and into the holiday season. So if you can wait then just wait. TCL brand is usually one of the brands that goes on sale on Black Friday so there is a good chance this will be part of doorbusters deal somewhere.

Some guy in another thread got a last 65" Vizio at his local costco for a sweet price so I went to check it out.

Of course, I did see the deal he did but i got a quick glimpse of this tv that was posted for the $489.99 in store.

Not too bad. Look wise, its not a beautiful tv but not an ugly one either. The best way i can describe it is that it looks generic in the sense that is blends in. Not a bad thing for some. Picture looked decent.

Amazon reviews for the brand itself look good. I was thinking of gettiing a 65" 4k next year after they settle on HDR standards, but thats a year from now and $1500.

I am trying to convince myself a 55" 4k under $500 right now will hold me over a few years.

Minus the roku part, how does this tv compare to the sceptre 4k 55 inch at walmart for $399?

Just bought this tv it's awesome! Way better than the lg6140 at Costco. Blacks are really black and the roku is awesome. Super impressed and for under $500 for a 4K you can't beat it. I got it for my bedroom.

I bought this TV last night at Costco. I was originally looking at the new Vizio E series since I have a smaller 2015 1080p E series and we've been happen with it. But it's nearly $200 more, and I couldn't justify the difference, and this looked pretty close in PQ in the store.

The extra 3 year warranty is only $29.99, so I picked that up with it as well. Coming from a nearly 10 year old 720p Samsung DLP I'm happy (so far) with it.

How do you notice a difference on blurays considering the fact that they are 1080p and not 4k?
What resolution are you running for your games on this TV?

The set upscales to 4K but that quality can vary by manufacturer. Most 4K content being watched is upscaled from 720/1080p/i content at this time.
